Supported Living Manager Build & Lead a New Specialist Service



Location: East Sussex (must be local or able to commute reliably)

This is a rare opportunity for an experienced Supported Living Manager to take full leadership of a brand-new specialist service supporting a young person with autism a learning disability ADHD and complex behavioural needs.


The role requires experience supporting individuals who present with dysregulated behaviour which may at times include aggression. You will use calm consistent and person-centred approaches to ensure safe and effective support.


You will be responsible for building the service from the ground up - shaping the culture recruiting and leading the team and establishing consistently high standards of therapeutic person-centred care.

You will be:

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead recruit induct and develop a new supported living team
  • Establish a safe structured and high-quality service
  • Embed Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approaches across the service
  • Provide leadership in managing complex behaviours and crisis prevention
  • Ensure full compliance with safeguarding and the Mental Capacity Act (MCA)
  • Oversee care planning documentation and quality assurance
  • Maintain a hands-on leadership presence including rota involvement where required
  • Work closely with senior management to develop and evolve the service model


Who we are looking for

  • Strong experience in autism learning disabilities and complex needs services
  • Proven experience as a Supported Living Manager Registered Manager or an experienced Deputy ready to step up
  • Background in high-support or behaviourally complex environments
  • Strong leadership and team-building experience
  • Confident knowledge of safeguarding and MCA
  • Experience with Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
  • Calm resilient and emotionally intelligent under pressure
  • Ability to lead consistently in challenging environments
