IT Solutions Consultant
Job Summary
SUMMARY
The Solutions Consultant II is a senior individual contributor within the IT Business Solutions group responsible for translating complex business needs into scalable secure and wellintegrated technology solutions. This role partners closely with business leaders product teams and IT delivery to design implement and support systems with multiple dependencies financial impact realtime processing requirements and elevated organizational risk. The role places strong emphasis on integrationdriven architectures including APIs and webhooks as well as clear solution design user story development testing rigor and stakeholder expectation management across diverse and sometimes competing priorities.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Business & Solution Analysis
- Partner with business leads and SMEs to elicit document and validate functional and nonfunctional requirements.
- Create clear current and futurestate process data and integration diagrams using tools such as Visio.
- Develop user stories functional use cases acceptance criteria and test cases to support solution delivery and quality assurance.
- Translate technical and architectural complexity into clear consumable language for nontechnical stakeholders.
- Perform impact and risk analysis across users accounts and systems identifying opportunities for standardization and reuse.
- Support vendor evaluations RFIs/RFPs and solution assessments as required.
Integration APIs & Webhooks (Core Specialization)
- Design and support RESTful APIs webhookbased integrations and eventdriven workflows across internal platforms and thirdparty vendors.
- Apply integration best practices including:
- API versioning contract stability and backward compatibility
- Authentication and authorization (OAuth2 API keys service accounts)
- Error handling retries rate limiting and observability
- Use tools such as Postman to design test validate and troubleshoot API interactions.
- Collaborate with delivery teams on API contracts schemas and documentation (e.g. OpenAPI/Swagger).
- Support realtime and nearrealtime data exchange patterns while ensuring data integrity security and resilience.
- Lead investigation and resolution of integrationrelated production issues including rootcause analysis and longterm remediation.
Solution Delivery & Quality
- Support solution implementations including configuration integration validation and controlled data loads.
- Define and maintain ETL and integration specifications to ensure data quality and traceability.
- Coordinate and support system testing and user acceptance testing including defect triage and resolution.
- Provide guidance on classifying issues as defects versus change requests and managing expectations accordingly.
Product & Platform Ownership
- Act as a subjectmatter expert for assigned applications and integrations.
- Maintain and evolve product and integration roadmaps in collaboration with business and IT stakeholders.
- Research industry and technology trends recommending pragmatic enhancements aligned with enterprise strategy.
- Provide secondtier support and mentorship to Application Support teams.
Stakeholder & Project Leadership
- Serve as an accountable technology partner to business leads account teams and external stakeholders.
- Navigate complex stakeholder dynamics including working effectively with strong personalities conflicting priorities and constrained timelines.
- Temper expectations through clear communication tradeoff analysis and pragmatic compromise while maintaining solution integrity.
- Lead or contribute to multiple concurrent initiatives providing estimates milestones risks and escalation paths.
- Deliver concise executiveready status updates highlighting progress dependencies and decision points.
- Ensure adherence to BGIS governance SDLC change management and audit requirements.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Required
- University or college degree in Computer Science Information Technology Business Technology or equivalent experience.
- 510 years of experience in business systems analysis solution delivery or technology consulting.
- Strong understanding of the full SDLC across Agile/Scrum and waterfall methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience creating:
- Business requirements and functional designs
- User stories acceptance criteria and test cases
- Solution and integration diagrams
- Solid understanding of relational databases data modeling and SQL.
- Proven ability to resolve complex issues manage ambiguity and drive outcomes in highvisibility initiatives.
- Strong communication facilitation and relationshipmanagement skills.
Integration & Technical Expertise (Required)
- Handson experience designing testing or supporting APIs and webhookbased integrations.
- Proficiency using tools such as Postman for API validation and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of integration security reliability and scalability best practices.
- Experience working with distributed systems SaaS platforms or thirdparty vendors.
- Familiarity with API documentation standards (e.g. OpenAPI/Swagger).
Preferred / Nice to Have
- Experience with ERP IWMS CMMS or Real Estate platforms (e.g. Archibus Tririga Maximo Yardi).
- Experience with ETL processes data governance and data standardization.
- Exposure to BI and analytics tools (e.g. Power BI Tableau).
- Experience with Microsoft and/or Oracle database technologies.
- Familiarity with scripting or automation languages.
This is a regular full-time position with a salary range of $94300 - $113000 per annum. The starting salary will be based on the successful candidates competencies including but not limited to experience education professional designations and performance related to this role.
