Position Summary:
Ensure a high level of integrity and service within the corporate payroll healthcare dental and RRSP systems and program administration. Responsible for the timely processing of wage payroll and filing of related documents including management and administration of the Time and Attendance Management System accurate and timely reporting/filing of T4s withholding tax EHT together with other government or legislated remittances.
The successful candidate will also assist in the implementation and maintenance of the HRIS/Payroll System. Establishing a good understanding of the business excellent communication skills and adapting to a fast-paced environment will be the key to success.
Compensation range:$67000-$83000 annualy
Primary Responsibilities:
- Process and input wage payroll data.
- Complete payroll in a timely and efficient manner
- Maintain HRIS/Payroll system
- Manage and process all deductions including taxes garnishments and voluntary contributions to benefit plans and retirement programs.
- Answer employees and Supervisor/Managers questions relating to payroll deductions purchases or payroll activities
- Ensure all data is processed promptly accurately and in compliance with company policies practices and procedures
- Update year-to-date earnings for taxable benefits not processed through payroll.
- Prepare ROEs and other payroll-related documentation as required.
- Assist with checking corporate withholding statements tax EI CPP EHT to ensure reconciliation to payroll registers.
- Assist with year-end balancing of T4s withholding tax and EHT together with related filings
- Reconcile employee benefits deduction to service provider billing.
- Assist with new hire set up in the Time and Attendance Management System as well as the payroll system.
- Ensure the confidentiality of employee information.
- Support all other wage and salary payroll activities providing backup when required.
- Other duties as required.
Educational Requirements:
- Diploma or degree in Accounting Human Resources Business Administration or related field
- Three to five years of payroll administration and related experience
- Knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems
Required Skills & Expertise:
- A Canadian Payroll Association certification or equivalent is an asset.
- US experience would be an asset
- Year-end processing and Benefit administration
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with employees and managers at all levels within the organization.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be a motivated self-starter who can work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while juggling multiple tasks and projects.
- Ability to handle confidential information with a high level of discretion.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.

- Strong computer skills including MS Word Excel Outlook and HRIS and payroll systems.
