Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Park Place Assisted Living Community located in Seattle Washington plays a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and exceptional customer service to residents. As a key member of the care team the LPN is responsible for overseeing care services within a designated area of the community and supporting the health safety and well-being of residents.

This position is essential to the success of the care department providing leadership guidance and supervision to caregiving staff to ensure an efficient compassionate and resident-centered environment. The LPN works closely with interdisciplinary team members to maintain compliance with care standards respond to resident needs and promote a supportive and engaging community for all residents.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Current in-good-standing LPN license with the State of Washington.
  • At least one year of supervisory experience in long-term care with demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of state and federal long-term care regulations and compliance standards.

Job Skills and Requirements

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Plan organize lead and control the actions of care and housekeeping staff assigned to the floor or department.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels and assign tasks to ensure effective resident care.
  • Provide ongoing leadership to ensure team cooperation efficient operations and quality care.

Communication:

  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with residents families staff supervisors and external contacts.
  • Maintain high-quality communication and rapport with the RHF Quality Assurance Nurse (QAN) and other team members.

Policy and Procedure Adherence:

  • Ensure compliance with Park Place and RHF policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to and promote state and federal regulations ensuring staff awareness of relevant protocols.

Resident Care:

  • Oversee and ensure the implementation of individualized service plans that meet the specific needs of each resident.
  • Provide direct nursing care as prescribed by physicians and in line with professional nursing standards and regulatory guidelines.

Documentation and Compliance:

  • Ensure that care department documentation is accurate and reflects the actual care provided to residents.
  • Maintain and review incident reports ensuring trends or patterns are addressed promptly.

Staff Development and Training:

  • Develop and update care department schedules and procedures as necessary.
  • Provide in-service training sessions to staff under the direction of the Director of Nursing.
  • Conduct interviews screening hiring and recommend termination of staff when necessary following RHF disciplinary procedures.

Pharmacy and Medication Management:

  • Oversee the pharmacy program including management of drug control books and adherence to state drug disposition procedures.

Infection Control:

  • Assist the Director of Nursing in tracking facility infections to ensure appropriate treatment and participate in monthly infection control Quality Assurance (QA) meetings.

Resident and Family Communication:

  • Serve as a liaison between residents families and external care providers ensuring families are informed of significant changes in the residents condition and coordinating transitions to higher levels of care when necessary.

Collaboration with External Agencies:

  • Coordinate with assigned DSHS caseworkers to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Supply and Inventory Management:

  • Order necessary supplies to maintain department operations efficiently.

Reporting:

  • Ensure timely submission of reports required by RHF and regulatory agencies.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing and Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the overall care environment.

Compensation:

Actual base salary considers several factors including but not limited to geography job-related knowledge experience and budget. The start of the salary range is typically associated with the minimum experience required.

The role is considered non-exempt so will be eligible for overtime pay in accordance with federal and state law. The anticipated base pay range for the position in Seattle Washington is $30.00-$30.00 per hour.
