Cloncurry Shire Council is seeking a Plant Operator / Labourer Flo Con Operator to join our Infrastructure & Environment team.
This role plays an important part in maintaining the condition of town streets and roads through patching road repairs and plant operations.
What We Offer
Full Time- Stream B Level 1-7- $58000 to $66000 per annum(depending on qualifications and experience) Superannuation.
5 weeks Annual Leave (with 17.5% Leave Loading)
Monthly RDO (13 per year)
Personal (Sick) Leave
Remote Area Housing Allowance
About the Role
The Plant Operator / Labourer Flo Con Operator is responsible for undertaking a range of operational tasks including operating Councils Flocon truck carrying out road maintenance activities and supporting Councils works programs. The position contributes to maintaining town infrastructure and ensuring works are completed safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
The successful applicant will assist with a variety of duties including:
Operating Councils Flocon truck for pothole and edge patching works
Carrying out road maintenance and repair activities
Assisting with general labouring duties as required
Operating plant and machinery within licence and competency levels
Conducting pre-start checks and reporting equipment defects
Maintaining plant equipment and Council assets through preventative maintenance
Supporting Council works programs as directed by the Urban Works Supervisor
About You
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
Experience operating a Flocon truck or undertaking road repair works
Competency operating small plant and equipment such as mowers pumps or generators
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Strong understanding of Workplace Health and Safety practices
Ability to complete tasks efficiently and maintain a high standard of work
Knowledge of civil construction or local government works is desirable
Mandatory Requirements
Current Police Clearance
MR Driver Licence
Construction White Card (required prior to commencement)
Desirable
Traffic Control or Traffic Management accreditation
Experience operating a Flocon truck is highly desirable
Plant operator competencies across a range of machinery
Bobcat or Backhoe operating experience
