The Role

As part of the End User Computing Technologies Team you will be working with the wider Technical Operations team to delivera highly available managed and secure platform which empowers end users in pursuit of their workobjectives.

Joining a team of 5your experience andexpertisewill contribute to the delivery oftheEnd User computingplatform.In order tosucceed in this role you should have experience in the following areas:

  • Administrations ofITplatforms:MECM (SCCM) Intune Azure Virtual Desktop Active Directory Entra
  • Scripting and query languages such as PowerShell KQL SQL and Python.
  • Application packagingAutomationand device remediation.

You will have a proventrack recordof delivering solutions in a complex stakeholder environment and demonstrable experience of effective relationship management. Influencing and organisation skills are essential and you must be able to work under pressureprioritiseand plan tasks and be proactive and flexible. Team working and collaboration along with a strong focus on customer service are every bit as important as the technical skills you bring.

Key Accountabilities

  • Support and develop the systems and services that underpin our EUC technology and related the key technology services that underpin the EUC offering such as remoteassistance automated fault finding software packaging and automated software deployment
  • Deliveries including specialist software deployments OS Deployments and Project Planning for Capital Projects and smaller Desk Moves or building changes
  • Management of essential Systems Management Consoles such as MECM (SCCM) Active Directory and bespoke Applications to maintain adapt and analyse the core service deployments
  • Act as an EUC technology subject matter expert (SME) utilising their extensive knowledge and experience and use this to deliver excellence in operational support project and change delivery and help in defining the future strategy
  • Take responsibility for management of tasks and activitiesallocatedto them by their manager and act as a deputy to the team manager if sorequired
  • Deliver any project or change related activity as part of wider NUIT or NU project teams
  • Engage with stakeholders across NUIT and the wider as needed to provide advice consultancysupportand guidance in relation to this area
  • Understand and implement the Technology Roadmap and help to keep it up to date by being a subject matter expert (SME)
  • Ensure that policies standardsproceduresand guidelines are followed by the team and input to those policies etc. asrequired
  • Any other reasonable duties that fall within the scope of the post asallocatedby the line manager

The Person (Essential)

Knowledge Skills and Experience

  • Experience of using and implementing EUC support technologies such asremoteassistance automated fault finding software packaging and automated deployment
  • Experience of supporting a diverse EUC technology environment including: -
  • Windows
  • Mac
  • Chrome
  • UNIX and UNIX like desktops
  • Android
  • iOS
  • Experience of supporting a diverse EUC technology environment as used by the EUC Technology and Support teams and own the technologies and standards used to deliver that support
  • A working knowledge of Cybersecurity processes and practices is essential
  • Must be willing and able to obtain any certificationsrequiredfor this role including security clearanceshealthand safety regulations working in hazardous be willing and able to work in all University settings including medical laboratories human tissue laboratories hazardous areas etc

Qualifications

  • A bachelors degree or equivalent experience
  • A relevant technical qualification or equivalent technical experience
