Pay:$69.09 (W2) per hour to $85 (1099) per hour.

Sign-on bonus:$2000.

LOCATION:13777 Air Expressway Blvd. Victorville CA 92394

SCHEDULE:40 hours per week 8 hours per day Monday Friday as needed between 6:00 AM 10:00 PM for 120 workdays annually. Total: 960 hours annually

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be licensed as a Nurse Practitioner to practice in the State of California.
  • NP certified.
  • Must have at least one or more years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. Must be Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certified in accordance with the American Heart Association Basic Life Support.
  • Possess and submit evidentiary documentation of graduation from an accredited school.

JOB DUTIES: Shall be responsible for but is not limited to:

  • Provide direct patient care services in accordance with legal ethical and institutional standards through the evaluation of patients and therapeutic treatment as ordered by Health Services clinical staff.
  • Perform Advance Practice Practitioner duties within the scope of the current licensure.
  • Administer medications as prescribed i.e. by mouth intravenously intradermally subcutaneously or intramuscularly.
  • Assist with distribution of medications at pill line.
  • Monitor and evaluate the response to therapy.
  • Perform history and physicals.
  • Provide diagnostic therapeutic and preventive health care services for the inmate.
  • Take medical histories examine patients order and interpret laboratory tests and x-rays.
  • Maintain accurate logs of all reports in accordance with Bureau of Prisons and JACHO policy Screen laboratory. tests/results for normal/abnormal lad values and notify the physician or physicians.
  • Ensure all sharps are secured accounted for stored and disposed of according to institutional and national policy.
  • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
  • Adhere to infection control policies and procedures.
  • Ability and skill to operate EKG.
  • Make a diagnosis provide treatment plans and prescribe medications.
  • Clinically manage injuries by suturing splinting and immobilizing.
  • Attend to medical emergencies.
  • Record progress notes recommend clinically necessary outside consultation instruct and counsel and order or carry out therapy.
  • Emergency consultation to be performed in instances were deemed necessary.
  • Perform minor surgery utilizing local anesthesia during consultation visits.
  • Work collaboratively with the staff physician(s) and consulting physician(s) in planning instituting evaluating and revising program plans.
  • Assist in determining conditions resources and policies essential to delivery of the health care services.
  • Disseminates between normal and abnormal findings to recognize early stages of serious physical emotional or mental problems.
  • Manages the daily operation of the clinic and conducts daily sick call which may include securing health histories from the patient recording findings and providing clinical evaluations.
  • Provides a wide range of emergency services in the absence of the physician.
  • Perform duties as required but accept only those nursing assignments that are commensurate with his/her educational preparation training experience and licensure laws.
