Job Summary

ESY Nurse

The ESY Program runs from July 6 - July 31 2026

Monday - Friday 8:30 - 11:30

The program will be located at Oxford Middle School and services students Grades PK -12

Rate: $50/hr

Qualifications:

Must be an RN.
Currently licensed by the State of Connecticut Department of Health.
Current certification in CPR
The ability to assess and evaluate the health status of each student in order to make a nursing diagnosis and establish a health plan.
The ability to interpret the health status and medical findings to the student parent and staff responsible for the child.
The ability to recommend to the administration modifications in the educational program for a student due to changes in the students health or medical status.
Excellent communication skills to serve as liaison between the parents school and community in health matters.
Knowledge of and experience in performing health screenings
The ability to observe students as needed to detect health problems/issues.
Excellent organizational skills needed to maintain cumulative health records on all students.
The ability to assume responsibility to render emergency care to a student or staff member when injured or ill.
The ability to review and recommend revisions in school nursing policies and procedures.
