Internal and external contacts are often made at the employees own initiative with all contacts being face to face. At least 20% of all contacts are with external customers while 80% are internal or non-customers.

General Position Summary:

Performs custodial duties to fulfill custodial services contract requirements according to customer specifications. Performs all tasks in a safe manner and meets Garten quality standards. Must be open to learning. May work independently or in cooperation with a team. Even when working independently Garten is a team environment.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

• Being the primary driver for the team(s) assigned to.
• Performs custodial duties such as vacuuming cleaning restrooms removing trash and other miscellaneous services safely and in compliance with all Garten policies and procedures.

• Monitoring supply needs and stock levels. Places supply requests as needed to maintain adequate inventory. Assists with distribution of supplies.
• Checks quality against task lists and/or other control documents to ensure all items are completed for the site each time.

Specific Job Skills Required:

• Ability to provide own transportation to and from work with valid drivers license acceptable driving record and proof of current vehicle insurance
• Ability to be the primary driver for designated team(s).
• Ability to operate custodial equipment bend twist stoop kneel reach overhead climb stairs and make repetitive motions of the arms/hands.
• Ability to push/pull up to 20 pounds to lift up to 200 pounds with assistance and to carry up to 40 pounds regularly throughout a normal workday.
• Ability to balance attentiveness to quality while concentrating on speed.
• Ability to notice detail.
• Ability to make decisions use independent judgment and/or take independent action and provide customer service.
• Able to read write speak and understand English preferred.

• Ability to actively participate in team development and team-oriented processes.

Education and/or Experience Required:

• Experience in general custodial services preferred; adequate demonstration of equivalent skills and attitude accepted.
• A minimum of three (3) years of driving experience.
• ODL required.
