JOB SUMMARY
The Testing Compliance Assistant Special Education plays an important role in supporting student success by assisting Special Education staff in assigned schools with the administration of assessment and testing. This position helps ensure testing processes are organized accurate and compliant while also providing clerical and logistical support. This role requires travel to multiple schools to administer assessments and coordinate testing materials while maintaining an organized and supportive testing environment for students. The assistant must be able to safely lift and transport up to 30 pounds of testing materials and files.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
All positions require selected candidates to be fingerprinted and successfully pass a criminal background check. Additional minimum required qualifications for this position are:
- Bachelors degree in early childhood education or development education or a psychology-related field. An in-progress degree must be conferred by June 1 2026
- Valid Drivers License and evidence of insurability
- Reliable transportation to travel to various school sites
- Speak read write and present professionally; analyze and interpret English written and verbal communications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience working in a K-12 public school setting
- Training and experience administering student testing such as:
- Woodcock-Johnson Psycho-educational Battery III
- Cognitive and Tests of Achievement
- Comprehensive Test of Nonverbal Intelligence (CTONI)
- Spanish language proficiency including the ability to read write speak and understand
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- In a one-to-one setting individually administer and score standardized tests for the purpose of completing the special education eligibility process for initial referrals and triennial re-evaluations for grades 1st through 12th. Students to be tested must be assigned to the TCM (Transition Compliance Manager) by the supervising special education teacher and other special education department personnel. Assessment measures to be trained and administered will include but are not limited to the Woodcock Johnson-IV Tests of Cognitive Abilities Woodcock Johnson-IV Tests of Academic Achievement Woodcock Munoz Language Survey UNIT WNV and WISC.
- Incorporate age-appropriate behavior management skills when necessary while administering assessments
- Administer assessments for students as assigned by the special education administrative assistant supervising special education teachers and other special education department staff during assessments
- Ensure that testing environments are quiet and free from distractions
- Coordinate with special education department staff to stay informed of scheduled testing and appropriate testing protocols for all assessments to be administered
- Organize completed protocols and disseminate scoring to assigned school psychologists
- Maintain strict confidentiality of student data in compliance with FERPA regulations
- Participate in training as needed to stay current on new assessments new editions and updates to assessments
- Provide support to special education consultants and other department staff to facilitate file exchange between schools
- Maintain and store special education files in compliance with retention requirements established by federal and state regulations
- Schedule assessment appointments make and answer phone calls collate data and use basic job-related equipment
- Use of private vehicle to travel between varied district locations to carry out essential functions of the position with mileage reimbursed according to district and business reimbursement rates
- Participate in meetings workshops and training as assigned
- Communicate effectively with diverse individuals and groups of people while maintaining confidentiality and building positive working relationships with employees students and stakeholders
- Work under limited supervision using time management and prioritization strategies accurately processing detailed information and meeting deadlines
- Support a team environment by collaborating with own and other work units to perform the duties of the position effectively
- As needed roll push pull bend reach stoop and lift up to 30 pounds
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance to fulfill job requirements efficiently and effectively
- Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit
