Were hiring a full-time Insurance Verification & Authorization Supervisor to join our Finance department at 41 Montebello.
What Youll Be Doing
In this role youll oversee the daily operations of the Insurance Verification & Authorization team across multiple sites while guiding process improvements developing SOPs and establishing key performance metrics. Youll serve as the organizations expert on payer requirements insurance eligibility and financial counseling workflowssupporting staff answering interdepartmental inquiries and collaborating with clinical and support teams on complex cases. Additionally youll ensure exceptional customer service maintain strict confidentiality and manage self-pay and collections processes to support accurate and efficient billing
RESPONSIBILITIES: As an Insurance Verification & Authorization Supervisor under the supervision of the Director and Supervisor you will:
- Oversee the daily operations of the Insurance Verification & Authorization Specialist and Lead at multiple program sites
- Conceptualizes department improvements leading and implementing changes
- Maintain weekly supervision with IVA Lead
- Create SOPs and workflow for department. Helping to establish KPIs and tracking trends
- Provide guidance regarding payers ledgers and requiring authorizations and verifying insurances
- Answer interdepartmental inquiries regarding payers and eligibility
- Manage financial counseling process and outcomes to forward applicable information to the Billing team
- Work with Support Services and clinical departments regarding individualized payment arrangements with clients.
- Review self-pay accounts for collection agency submission.
- Provide exemplary customer service demonstrating patience and understanding while carrying out the companys payment policies.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive and protected information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Physical requirements include the following:
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator copy machine and computer printer.
- Occasionally lifts and carries items up to 15 pounds

Qualifications
What were looking ForThe Must-Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- At least 3 years of relevant medical office experience and basic understanding of billing processes
- Supervisory experience
- Practical knowledge of payer specific rules and regulations including Medicaid and Medicare
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Demonstrated experience to include counseling analysis collaborative teamwork professional communications and interactions advocacy financial management and customer service.
- Willingness to work collaboratively with multiple teams and tasks
- Proficiency in Windows-based computer programs and electronic charts as well as basic office equipment
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced setting
- Well-organized self-motivated and proficient time management
- Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing
