How you will contribute to our mission in getting Australia to space:
The below is designed to give you an idea of the role you will play. There will be many more exciting and innovative things to do:
Work collaboratively and innovatively
Participating in the development of Flight Software engineering designs processes and activities
Be accountable as a Responsible Engineer for Flight Software
Conduct technical assessments including: concept studies trade studies analysis of COTS solutions and estimates for Research and Development
Adhering to and participating in product development engineering processes including: requirements definition preliminary / detailed design review procurement / manufacture assembly integration and verification / validation
Supporting Software unit and integration testing and operations (may include travel to remote sites)
Supporting investigations troubleshooting modifications and fixes / repairs
Supporting execution of Research and Development activities
Supporting Software engineering production activities
Coordinating with other departments throughout the business
Engaging with external suppliers subcontractors and stakeholders
Ensuring that engineering activities are conducted and documented in accordance with Gilmour Space policies plans and procedures
Other duties as requested by Management
Minimum Qualifications Skills and Experience:
Bachelors Degree in Software Computer Science Electronics or Mechatronics Engineering or a relevant qualification
At least 4 years engineering experience
Desire to develop new and innovative software
Ability to operate in dynamic fast paced environments
Demonstrated resilience in high stress situations
Desired Qualifications Skills and Experience:
Familiarity with C/C Python
Familiarity with baremetal RTOS and embedded Linux software development
Familiarity with microcontroller (STM32 Arduino) embedded peripheral and low-level driver development
Familiarity with Linux and Python based scripting and automation
Familiarity with aerospace software engineering standards (eg. DO-178C)
Familiarity writing both inline and markdown software documentation
Familiarity using static / dynamic analysis and code coverage tools
Familiarity using software debugging tools (eg. GDB)
Familiarity developing software in accordance with Waterfall and Agile management frameworks
Understanding of Systems Engineering practises
Demonstrated engineering experience within the space aerospace or automotive industries
Demonstrated ability to work in a high-paced challenging work environment
Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a team environment with a desire and willingness to assist other team members
