The Model Risk Reporting and Analytics role is responsible for designing producing and enhancing enterprise-level reporting and analytical insights that support effective oversight of model risk across the organization. This role partners closely with Model Validation Model Owners Regulatory Compliance and senior leadership to provide clear accurate and actionable reporting on model inventories risk metrics validation performance issues and emerging trends.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop enhance and maintain Model Risk Management (MRM) reports dashboards and KPI/KRI suites for senior management governance committees and regulatory bodies.

  • Perform analytics on model risk data to identify patterns emerging risks gaps and opportunities for process improvement.

  • Lead the design and automation of reporting pipelines using tools such as Python SQL Tableau/Power BI and model risk platforms.

  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure data accuracy completeness and consistency across model inventory validation results performance monitoring and issue management datasets.

  • Support regulatory exams and internal audits by preparing reporting packages and clearly articulating model risk insights methodologies and governance processes.

  • Contribute to the enhancement of the enterprise model risk taxonomy metrics definitions and data governance standards.

  • Provide analytic support to Model Risk leadership including deep dives adhoc analyses scenario analysis and thematic reviews.

  • Develop documentation process maps and reporting standards to ensure transparency repeatability and auditability of reporting.

  • Support strategic initiatives such as system migrations automation model risk system enhancements and regulatory-driven changes.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with Model Risk policies regulatory expectations (SR 117 OSFI E23) and internal risk appetite.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Finance Data Science Statistics Economics Engineering or related discipline.

  • Typically 7 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Strong analytical ability with experience manipulating large datasets and performing structured quantitative analysis.

  • Proficiency with analytical tools (Python SQL R) visualization platforms (Tableau Power BI) and enterprise data environments.

  • Knowledge of model risk regulatory guidance (e.g. SR 117 OSFI E23) and understanding of model development/validation concepts.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical information into seniorlevel insights.

  • Strong attention to detail data quality and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fastpaced environment.

  • In-depth/expert knowledge of risk management metrics KPIs and KRIs.

  • In-depth/expert knowledge of risk management theory processes and portfolio management reporting techniques.

  • In-depth/expert knowledge of reporting & analytics concepts and applications.

  • Experience with model lifecycle platforms or GRC tools is an asset.

  • Leads the development and maintenance of the risk reporting framework.

  • Acts as the prime subject matter expert for internal/external stakeholders.

  • Represents the risk reporting function during internal/external regulatory audits and/or examinations

  • Ensures alignment between stakeholders.

  • Designs and produces regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards.

  • Develops and manages comprehensive information management systems; designs and/or leads initiatives to improve processes analysis and reporting.

  • Leads change management programs of varying scope and type including readiness assessments planning stakeholder management execution evaluation and sustainment of initiatives.

  • Leads the execution of operational programs; assesses and adapts as needed to ensure quality of execution.

  • May provide specialized support for other internal and external regulatory requirements.

  • Provides input into the planning and implementation of ongoing operational programs in support risk reporting management framework.

  • Leads/participates in the design implementation and management of core business/group processes.

  • Designs develops and implements reporting solutions to meet management and regulatory reporting requirements.

  • Provides advice and guidance to assigned business/group on implementation of analytical and reporting solutions.

  • Executes work to deliver timely accurate and efficient service for scheduled reporting production processes.

  • Supports the maintenance monitoring and measurement of key risk indicators to internal & external stakeholders.

  • Analyses data and information to provide risk-related insights and recommendations for the assigned portfolio e.g. capital at risk modeling risk/return assessments etc.

  • Supports the interpretation of internal and external policies and regulatory requirements relevant to the analytics and reporting mandate e.g. regulatory reporting.

  • Works with various data owners to discover and select available data sources from internal sources and external vendors (e.g. lending system payment system external credit rating system) to fulfill analytical needs.

  • Ensures strong governance and effective controls across risk reporting activities and information in accordance with enterprise standards.

  • Analyzes data and highlights significant information including variances trends opportunities and exposures; escalates as required.

  • Provides information and supports the process for internal and external audits.

  • Gathers and formats data into regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards.

  • Supports development and execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.

  • Supports the maintenance of operational procedures and processes related to analytical and reporting processes.

  • Supports the development of tools and delivery of training focused on awareness and understanding of key data elements used in risk reporting.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location skills experience education and qualifications for the role and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Groups expected target for the first year in this position.
