Silicon Valley International School (INTL) seeks a full-time Campus Supervisor for Student Life & Safety for our Clarke Avenue campus.

This role is central to ensuring a safe welcoming and well-organized campus environment for students and families. The Campus Supervisor supports daily student supervision helps foster a positive student culture and plays an important role in building a strong sense of community on campus.

The anticipated hourly range for this position is $32.55 (STP-1) to $45.26 (STP-20). Placement within the range is determined based on relevant work experience education and internal equity. This position is non-exempt hourly and addition to the hourly rate employees may receive an annual academic attainment stipend of $1000 for a Bachelors degree or $2000 for a Masters degree in accordance with the schools compensation structure.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with young children demonstrates strong situational awareness and brings warmth professionalism and reliability to daily interactions with students colleagues and parents.

This is a 40-hour-per-week position reporting directly to the Clarke Avenue Campus Director. The regular schedule is 9:15 a.m. 6:00 p.m. which includes a 45-minute unpaid lunch break.

Typical Work Activities Include

Student Supervision & Safety

  • Supervise students during arrival dismissal recess and other outdoor activities.
  • Ensure students are safe and engaged while outside the classroom.
  • Maintain clear awareness of the campus environment and respond quickly to safety concerns.
  • Assist in ensuring smooth transitions throughout the school day.

Student Support & Conflict Resolution

  • Help students resolve minor conflicts using positive communication and restorative approaches.
  • Support students in practicing respectful behavior and community expectations.
  • Collaborate with teachers and the Campus Director when additional support is needed.

Family & Community Engagement

  • Greet families and visitors warmly during arrival and dismissal.
  • Assist with student sign-in and sign-out procedures.
  • Help create a welcoming and supportive campus atmosphere for students and families.

Campus Life & Events

  • Support school activities and events that take place on the Clarke campus.
  • Help organize activities that encourage positive play and community during outdoor time.
  • Assist with student life initiatives that strengthen community culture.

Operational Support

  • Assist the Campus Director with daily operational tasks related to student movement and campus routines.
  • Communicate clearly with faculty and staff regarding student supervision needs.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with children
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Calm and confident presence when supervising children
  • Ability to move quickly to address emergency or potentially unsafe situations
  • Fluency in English
  • Bilingual abilities (Chinese French or German) preferred

  • On occasion must lift up to 35 lbs

Expectations for Mini-Camp and Summer Camp

This is a year-round position that supports the schools student life supervision and safety operations during the academic year and school break periods. The role requires the successful candidate to work a minimum of six (6) of the nine (9) mini-camp and summer camp sessions offered annually by the school. Camp assignments and schedules are determined based on programmatic and operational needs. Camps may take place at either the Cohn Campus or the Willows Campus and employees assigned to camp sessions must be prepared to work at either location.

During mini-camp and summer sessions Campus Supervisors support the safety supervision and well-being of students by monitoring and participating in campus activity assisting with student transitions and behavior support and ensuring adherence to school safety procedures. They work collaboratively with other camp staff to help maintain a safe organized and supportive environment consistent with the program structure established by the Director of Licensing and the Academic Enrichment Coordinator. Participation in assigned camp sessions is considered part of the core responsibilities of this year-round role.
