Job Summary

Hogan Lovells is seeking an experienced Litigation Assistant with deep litigation expertise to support a highperforming team of partners associates and legal professionals. This role is ideal for a seasoned assistant who thrives in advanced litigation support and over time is eager to take on an expanded role as a Team Lead for Attorney Assistants.

The position remains primarily focused on delivering exceptional highlevel litigation and administrative support. Once fully trained the successful candidate will also serve as a liaison and mentor within the attorney assistant team helping promote consistency coverage and best practices across multiple offices or functions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare format proofread and finalize litigation documents including pleadings discovery motions briefs correspondence and related materials.
  • Coordinate filings in state and federal courts including courts of appeal and Supreme Courts remaining current on court rules procedures and deadlines.
  • Draft and update tables of contents and authorities; assist with largevolume discovery management.
  • Schedule and coordinate hearings depositions mediations and related proceedings working with court reporters videographers and vendors.
  • Communicate professionally with court personnel opposing counsel experts and internal team members.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to multiple timekeepers including calendar management travel coordination expense reports and monthly billing support.
  • Conduct conflict checks; open new clients and matters; assist with engagement letters and audit response letters.
  • Maintain accurate electronic and physical filing systems; provide coverage to team members as needed.
  • Uphold confidentiality demonstrate initiative and contribute to a collaborative serviceoriented team environment.

TEAM LEAD RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as a point of contact and liaison between Attorney Assistants and Office Administrators to support consistent workflows and communication.
  • Mentor and support assistant team members by sharing best practices legal procedures and firm policies.
  • Assist with coordinating absence coverage and workload balancing to ensure continuity of attorney support.
  • Support onboarding and training of new assistants including preparation of orientation and training materials.
  • Help facilitate team meetings and communicate firm initiatives or operational updates impacting administrative support.
  • Provide feedback and insights to Office Administrators regarding team operations training needs and process improvement opportunities.
  • Support special projects related to administrative operations technology adoption or efficiency initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ten (10) years of litigation experience ideally within a large law firm or complex highvolume litigation practice.
  • Extensive knowledge of litigation procedures discovery processes and trial preparation.
  • Proven ability to manage shifting priorities multiple deadlines and complex assignments with professionalism and sound judgment.
  • Strong organizational skills exceptional attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication abilities; minimum typing speed of 60 wpm.
  • Advanced proficiency in PACER Case Anywhere Adobe Acrobat NetDocuments (or similar document management systems) and Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with Intapp Time Intapp Open Chrome River and 3E preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to guide mentor or informally lead peers; prior supervisory experience is helpful but not required.
  • College degree preferred but not required with equivalent relevant experience.

The role offers increased autonomy exposure to crossoffice collaboration and an opportunity to help shape administrative best practiceswhile remaining deeply engaged in sophisticated litigation work.

In San Francisco the expected base salary range for this role is $120000 to $140000 per year.. This range reflects a good-faith estimate of pay at the time of posting; the actual compensation offered may vary depending on factors such as the candidates qualifications. This position is eligible for additional forms of compensation which may include annual discretionary bonuses. Employees in this role are also eligible for benefits offered by the firm subject to applicable plan terms and conditions which currently include medical dental and vision insurance; a 401(k) retirement plan; and paid time off.
