CMDB Admin (not developer)
Primary role: ServiceNow CMDB Administrator
REQUIRED SKILLS
Role Overview
Primary role: ServiceNow CMDB Administrator
Strong preference for admin profiles - do not send developers
Looking for someone who has hands-on admin experience and can go deep into CMDB work
CMDB Subject Matter Expert (SME) is critical
Previous person in the role retired at end of year
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Own CMDB administration within ServiceNow
Deep involvement in CI mapping and relationships
Understand and educate stakeholders on:
o Differences between CMDB tables
o Asset Management terminology
Ensure all CMDB records are:
o Accurate
o Certified
o Properly maintained in ServiceNow
Ticket-based work:
o When tickets come in assign appropriately
o Continuously update records
o Add new applications
o Decommission applications
o Update server records
Very hands-on / in-the-weeds role
Environment / Integrations
CMDB work tied to an MSP
Heavy interaction with Cognizant
Expectation to keep Cognizant records in sync and updated
Candidate Profile
CMDB Admin not a developer
Self-starter / self pusher
Comfortable working independently
Strong understanding of:
o CMDB structure
o CI relationships
o Asset Management concepts
