Job Title: Software Solutions Architect

Duration: Long Term Contract

Location: Lansing MI 48933 (HYBRID role)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to design and deliver scalable cloud-native solutions using microservices and event-driven architectures. This role focuses on building resilient distributed systems driving enterprise modernization and ensuring high-quality technical delivery across platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design end-to-end architecture for scalable microservices and distributed systems
• Lead monolith-to-microservices modernization using DDD and API-first principles
• Architect event-driven systems using Kafka RabbitMQ IBM MQ
• Define and govern API contracts (REST OpenAPI gRPC) and integration patterns
• Implement resilience patterns (circuit breaker retries DLQ saga orchestration)
• Design cloud-native solutions on AWS and Azure
• Lead containerization using Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes / OpenShift
• Establish CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (Azure DevOps Jenkins GitHub)
• Design data pipelines migration strategies and real-time integrations
• Ensure non-functional requirements: scalability performance security (OAuth2 mTLS) and reliability
• Implement observability (Splunk Dynatrace AppDynamics)
• Provide technical leadership architecture governance and design reviews

Required Qualifications:

• 10 years of experience in software engineering and solution architecture
• 7 years of experience in microservices and event-driven architectures
• Strong expertise in Java Spring Boot REST APIs and distributed systems
• Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure including Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with Kafka or other messaging platforms and enterprise integration patterns
• Strong understanding of DDD CQRS Saga patterns and API design best practices
• Experience collaborating in cross-functional environments

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in large-scale enterprise or government environments
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect and/or Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification
• Experience with data platforms ETL/ELT pipelines
• Hands-on development experience to support technical decision-making
