Job Summary

Supervised by and/or Reports to: Executive Director of Human Resources

General Responsibilities: Supports the school divisions priority of attracting supporting and retaining a quality workforce through a focus on employee relations recruitment staffing and employee recognition programs.

Essential Duties:

  • Work closely with school-based and central-office administrators to foster a positive equitable and inclusive work environment for all employees.
  • Assist in establishing departmental goals and monitoring progress toward Human Resources initiatives.
  • Support the administration of employee discipline grievances and conflict resolution processes.
  • Conduct and support workplace investigations including complaints involving staff conduct and ensure timely and consistent resolution.
  • Serves as the Title IX Coordinator for all matters involving personnel.
  • Assist with the ongoing review and revision of division policies and regulations.
  • Ensure equitable hiring practices that support diversity and inclusion goals.
  • Coordinate recruitment events such as job fairs university partnerships and hard-to-fill position initiatives.
  • Research and co-implement alterative teacher pathways.
  • Coordinate student teacher and intern placements of university students.
  • Supervise applicant screening interview processes reference checks and hiring recommendations.
  • Supervise Human Resources staff responsible for recruitment onboarding and employee support functions.
  • Assists with the development and facilitation of any professional learning connected to Human Resources.
  • Collaborates with various stakeholders to ensure consistent support is provided to school and district-level leadership.
  • Develop and manage division-wide employee recognition programs.
  • Coordinate recognition events and communication efforts that celebrate employee contributions.
  • Support retention strategies aligned with employee engagement insights.
  • Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as may be assigned.

Requisite Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Thorough knowledge of the state and federal laws rules School Board policies and division procedures concerning the employment of personnel and the rights and privileges of an employee.
  • Extensive knowledge of human resources management and supervision of staff.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze data and feedback to continually enhance the workplace environment for all staff.
  • Understanding of effective conflict resolution techniques.
  • Ability to establish and maintain successful working relationships with peers teachers administrators and other school division employees.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive situations with professionalism confidentiality and sound judgement.
  • Serves as a role model.

Requisite Education and Experience:

  • Masters degree in Human Resources Education or related field required.
  • Must possess a Postgraduate Professional License with an endorsement in Administration and Supervision PreK-12.
  • Minimum of five years of leadership experience or Human Resources experience preferably within a K-12 school division.
  • Experience with employee relations recruitment and/or conducting investigations.

Physical Requirements:

Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see read talk hear handle or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment such as but not limited to: a personal computer calculator copier and fax machine. Some climbing stooping kneeling crouching reaching standing walking pushing pulling lifting grasping or repetitive motions required.
