As our CAD Technician you will be responsible for supporting the product line for Armstrong World Industries (AWI). You will also be responsible for providing solutions to internal and external customers through creating drawings to address complex installation and product issues utilizing two-dimensional and three-dimensional design software. Additionally the Architectural Specialties CAD Technician will provide practical contributions in the skillful translation of design layouts into detailed drawings and perform take-offs as required in the development of projects from inception through order.

What youll be doing

  • Complete Shop Drawings in 2D and sometimes 3D that require little or no modifications to our typical suspension systems
  • Proactively create and maintain CAD library drawing files
  • Create drawings and details to accompany bid documents installation instructions brochures and web-based applications for custom and standard products
  • Provide drawings and details to customers under direct supervision and review by management
  • Inspect drawings submitted by newer employees for adherence to drafting standards
  • Recognize problems or issues with customer submitted drawings and clarify requirements before completing drawings
  • Building relationships with internal and external customers including Contractors and Architects

What will make you successful

  • Strong AutoCAD skills
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal as well as the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Very Detail Oriented experience with Deadlines strong computer proficiency

Desired Qualifications:

  • Associate degree with an emphasis on Design Architecture or Mechanical field or additional relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • AutoCAD 2D or 3D work experience
  • Ability to read and understand architectural drawings
  • Ability to produce 3D drawings

Architectural Components Group Inc. (ACGI) a subsidiary of Armstrong World Industries Inc. (AWI) is one of twenty AWI plants in North Marshfield plant in south western Missouriisconveniently located within 3 hours to large cities such as Tulsa Kansas City and St. Louis as well as within 30 minutes to thesmaller city of Springfield. However its rural attributes serve to also attract outdoorsmen and nature enthusiasts. Eight large lakes are within an hours drive two smaller lakesare within 30 minutes. All offer an array of outdoor opportunities including fishing boating skiing and sailing. Hiking biking wildlife areas streams and other river opportunities are within a short drive including the Niangua and Compton Hollow Conservation Areas just outside of Marshfields city limits.
