About the role

  • The Renal Ambulatory Care (RAC) unit is made up of acute haemodialysis satellite dialysis peritoneal dialysis home training and renal clinics.

  • Caring for inpatients and outpatients requiring renal replacement therapies - haemodialysis.

  • Practice under the direction and supervision of the registered nurse and practice in accordance with NSW Health guidelines and local policy and protocol.

  • Retain responsibility for your actions and remain accountable in providing delegated nursing care including recognition of normal and abnormal assessments interventions and evaluations of individual health and functional status.

  • Monitor the impact of nursing care and maintain ongoing communication with the registered nurse regarding the health and functional status of individuals.

  • May administer prescribed medicines or maintain intravenous fluids in accordance with their educational preparation.

  • Haemodialysis training will be provided to the successful candidate.

About you

  • Currently registered as an Enrolled Nurse (Division 2) with the Australian Health Professionals

  • Demonstrated acute nursing care experience working as an Enrolled nurse in a hospital setting.

  • Demonstrated ability to work within the interdisciplinary team using effective communication and interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to prioritise competing workloads within a complex environment

  • Demonstrated customer service and patient centered approach to care

  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
