We are seeking an experienced elementary school educator to teach Science in the Middle School Program (Grade 6 and 7). You will be part of a collaborative teaching team supporting the positive growth and development of young girls in the Junior School. Teaching and learning is guided and enhanced by the principles of a student-centred collaborative approach with an inquiry-based focus to deepen learning for young students.
The successful candidate will join a vibrant innovative school community focused on personal excellence whole child development and overall addition to spending an engaging day with students who are genuinely interested in learning you will have an opportunity to work alongside educators teachers and leaders who are highly collaborative and dedicated to the profession of teaching.
This is a one year position to cover a leave with 0.8FTE teaching science/Grade 7 form teacher and 0.20FTE supporting learning resources.

Responsibilities:
Create a classroom community rich in SEL for Grade 7 girls in a homeroom setting
Plan the Grade 6 & 7 Science Curriculum in a team-based collaborative approach
Implement dynamic and interactive lessons
Consider the diverse needs of students in your planning and teaching offering a range of entry points and extensions to accommodate the needs of individual learners
Utilize a variety of assessment techniques that allow for timely transparent and strength-based communication of learning
Develop a student-centered inquiry-based and supportive culture for learning
Integrate technology into teaching and learning in meaningful ways
Communicate and collaborate with students parents teachers and administration to support student learning and wellbeing
Be an active and positive participant in school life including co-curricular activities
Support the supervision of students during non-instructional time
Participate in wider school wide events such as community time student leadership opportunities and outdoor education experiences
Work with select students
Learning Resources Support (0.2FTE)
Work collaboratively with learning resource teachers to provide integrated support to Middle School students
Collaborate with teachers to strengthen their capacity to support students with learning needs
Foster a positive supportive learning culture that celebrates diverse learning profiles
Support classroom learning through smallâgroup and individual instruction
Qualifications:
B.C. Ministry of Education Certificate or Independent School Certification
Bachelors Degree or equivalent
Previous experience teaching in a middle school capacity an asset
Understanding on how to support diverse learning styles at an elementary level
Collaborative and energetic with a passion for teaching
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Demonstrated ability to be innovative flexible highly organized with attention to detail
Energy commitment and readiness to participate in the co-curricular program and the diverse life of the school community
Employment and Application Details:
This role is scheduled to start in late August 2026 and classes begin in September 2026.

Annual Compensation: $69541-$123242 depending on experience and education.
