What Youll Do and Who We Are Looking For

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

- Provides CASAS and GED testing for Adults in Custody (AIC) at Columbia River Correctional Institution.

- Provides approved accommodations for students who need additional resources for testing according to the Oregon Department of Corrections Special Education team.

- Proctors make-up testing for students who were unable to take the test at the original scheduled time.

- Maintains records following established guidelines and procedures.

- Escalates issues to Testing Lead Education Coordinator or Education Director as appropriate.

- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

Work is performed in the corrections classroom setting where staff and AIC safety and security is the highest priority. Deadlines and interruptions of workflow are expected and occur on a regular basis.

Minimum Qualifications

High school education or year of post-secondary coursework in a relevant field and one year of experience working in an administrative or other similar environment is required. Experience performing the duties of the job may substitute for the post-secondary education requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of:

- Policies and procedures related to testing and placement;

- Assessment and the interpretation and application of test results;

- Applicable local state and federal laws and regulations;

Skills in:

- Problem solving;

- Good time management;

- Providing excellent customer service.

Ability to:

- Utilize computer technology and operate a variety of office equipment;

- Work with adult learners of various ethnic and cultural backgrounds;

- Remain calm in difficult situations and offer viable solutions;

- Effectively communicate in oral and written form;

- Work collaboratively in a fast-changing environment;

- Follow protocols and escalation procedures.
