2026 Summer Prog Substitute Teacher

We are looking for teachers who have a passion for teaching and are willing to substitute on an as-needed basis. Our 5-week morning program runs from June 15 - July 16 Monday to Thursday for grades TK-8. Prepared lesson plans are usually provided though substitute teachers should be prepared to manage a classroom without a written plan.

For over 22 years the Pasadena Educational Foundations Summer Enrichment Program has mixed academic subjects with hands-on exploration to help prepare students for the upcoming school year.

Our 5-week morning program has 2 formats. You may work with a single group of TK - 2nd grade students all morning in a self-contained/intro classroom. You may also work with 3 groups of 2nd - 8th grade students for around an hour each in our block classes.

• Both current PUSD and non-PUSD employees are welcome to apply.
• Prior employment by PEF does not guarantee a position for the 2026 summer program.
• Hiring and assignment availability are on an as-needed basis. PEF is unable to provide to any candidate if accepted any guarantees about the frequency and availability of substitute teaching assignments.
• Employment is dependent upon verification and timely completion before the program starts of all mandated payroll tax (W-4 DE4) and employment eligibility (I-9) forms and a background check.
• Most shifts are approximately 5 hours in the morning but exact times are TBD.
• This is a temporary part-time position that does not include paid time off or benefits.
