As a Lead Technician you will be the 1st line of defense for technical troubleshooting on the production floor. You will guide a small team of technicians to build high-quality mission-critical components that powercutting-edgeaerospace and defense systems.
You will organize support and drive the team to meet the highest industry standards for safety quality and efficiency. This role is ideal for a hands-on organized leader with a passion for building electrical hardware and continuously improving floor operations.
What youll own:
- Autonomously build electrical harness assemblies for aerospace and defense customers
- Responsible for keeping the floor on track provide technical and operational direction to team members to ensure quality standards and schedule are met.
- This may include:
- Demonstrating proper techniques to new apprentice technicians
- Inspecting hardware in-process to ensure conformance to specifications
- Implementing daily task checklists tomaintaintheworkcenter
- Assign and prioritize daily work per production schedule.
- Communicate work plan & work completed to team & operations stakeholders to minimize interruptions and ensure continuity.
- Work cross-functionally to ensure adequate support for nominal production operations
- Foster a culture of collaboration with Manufacturing Quality and Logistics to enhance manufacturability streamline processes and ensure seamless output to customers.
What youll bring to the team:
- High school diploma or equivalent certification and 3 years as a technician in a fast-paced production environment.
- Proficient in reading complex wire harness schematics anddeterminingproper order of operations & relevant techniques.
- Knowledge of soldering wire stripping contact crimping contact insertion and removal harness routing and strain relief techniques isrequired.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proficiencywith ERP/MRP systems work order management and BOM structures.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage cross-functional teams and present key performance data to leadership.
- Passion for innovation and continuous improvement with a hands-on approach to solving complex manufacturing challenges.
- Adaptable detail-oriented and proactive witha strong senseof ownership.
- Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as needed
- Must be able tolift upto 25 lbs. unassisted
- Must be able to stand for extended periods - 8 hours minimum
Bonus Points:
- 2 years of leadership experience preferably within a manufacturing production environment.
- 1 year of scheduling and task allocation experience.
- Familiarity with IPC-620 or NASA STD 8739.4.
- Has worked at a contract manufacturing company
Compensation:
- Compensation will be based on experience qualifications and other job-related factors.
- Hourly Range: $30.00- $50.00
- This is an onsite role at our facility in Cypress CA.
