As a Senior Trade Compliance Associate you will play a vital role in supporting our U.S. sites by ensuring our import and export activities meet regulatory requirements and reflect our commitment to responsible business practices.
This is a hands-on role for an experienced trade compliance professional who thrives at the intersection of technical regulations cross-functional collaboration and operational excellence. You will support the full lifecycle of international shipmentsfrom classification and licensing to documentation auditing and internal process governance. Youll also partner closely with teams across logistics engineering IT legal and operations to maintain our high compliance standards and help safeguard our supply chain.
This is a hybrid opportunity based in Indianapolis IN.
As a part of the team you will:
Support the end-to-end execution of import and export activities ensuring all documentation and regulatory requirements are met.
Maintain and update trade compliance procedures including the Export Compliance Manual as our compliance program evolves.
Conduct jurisdiction and classification analyses including determining ECCNs and identifying USML vs. CCL applicability.
Prepare and submit export licenses in SNAPR and monitor application progress including responding to BIS inquiries.
Partner with Engineering and IT to implement Technology Control Plans (TCPs) and ensure proper controls over technical data and deemed exports.
Lead internal audits of trade compliance processes identify gaps and support voluntary self-disclosures when necessary.
Review and validate international shipment documents such as Commercial Invoices EEIs Air Waybills and license documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Develop and deliver trade compliance training to operations engineering and shipping teams to promote a strong compliance culture.
Evaluate goods for preferential treatment eligibility (e.g. USMCA) and ensure compliant qualification.
Work closely with logistics shipping legal and operations teams to support smooth and compliant global shipments.
Maintain accurate regulatory reporting including export filings license usage and required recordkeeping.
Perform HTS classifications and support tariff analysis to ensure proper customs valuation and compliance.
What you know:
You have a bachelors degree in Business Supply Chain Law Engineering or a related field and have:
5 years of direct Trade Compliance experience (export import or both).
Experience with EAR; familiarity with ITAR preferred.
Professional certifications such as CES or CUSECO (preferred).
Licensed Customs Broker (preferred).
Familiarity with C-TPAT ACE Reconciliation and Duty Drawback.
Experience using automated trade compliance systems and reporting tools.
