Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced product attorney to join our legal team to help scale our Product Legal function. You will partner closely with our Engineering Product and Design teams as well as other cross-functional stakeholders to bring Harveys product vision to life.

What Youll Do

Generative AI has the power to greatly change the world and directly impact how things get done. Harvey is at the forefront of this change and our mission is to make generative AI actionable and useful for our customers. This is a fast moving environment (we are a start-up!) that is serving some of the worlds most renowned law firms in-house legal teams and professional organizations. And this role will put you in the center of all of this.

More specifically you will:

• Partner cross-functionally to align legal guidance with business goals including counseling our Product and Engineering teams on key legal issues related to B2B AI systems

• Research and advise on regulatory frameworks to help design and enhance compliant AI-powered products

• Partner with marketing teams to align product communications with legal and regulatory standards to support brand credibility and trust

• Support key initiatives to further develop and mature the legal teams capabilities and impact

• Build communication styles that resonate with your teams to balance risk-taking with responsible development in a fast-moving environment

• Have a strong sense of ownership curiosity and can demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguous situations.

What You Have

• A law degree from an accredited law school

• Admitted to practice law and in good standing in at least one jurisdiction and able to practice in California

• 4 years of law firm and/or in-house experience

• Demonstrated knowledge of laws and regulations relating to several of: artificial intelligence intellectual property privacy product liability marketing and/or consumer protection

• Experience advising clients on AI matters in a product legal or tech transactions capacity

• Ability to think creatively function independently and work proactively in ambiguous situations without clear precedents

• Team-focused and collaborative working style and willingness to build expertise to solve new challenges in an evolving practice

• Hyper-responsive and service-oriented attitude

• A love for solving hard problems in a fast-paced environment

Compensation

$200000 - $270000 USD
