The TAFE NSW Manufacturing Centres of Excellence (MCoE)are National Centres of Excellence a joint initiative between the Australian Government and NSW Government under the National Skills Agreement.

MCoEs are an innovative education model to tackle the manufacturing skills challenge for NSW and Australia. Located in Western Sydney the Hunter and the Illawarra each centre specialises in different areas. These include advanced manufacturing with robotics and 3D printing supporting clean energy in net zero manufacturing and sustainable manufacturing practices supporting the heavy manufacturing industry and supporting new and existing workforce build the skills they need for the future.

By partnering with other CoEs TAFES universities and industry these nationally networked centres ensure training aligns with real-world job requirements. The MCoEs offer short courses microskills and will soon deliver higher apprenticeships to help individuals become job-ready or enhance their skills for future opportunities.

About the role
This Procurement Specialist role sits within a specialised program that delivers additional handson functions not typically found in external or purely commercial procurement addition to leading compliant endtoend purchasing activities the role is deeply involved in order fulfilment working closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure goods and services are procured delivered and managed in line with governance requirements and operational timelines. The position requires strong familiarity with procurement systems publicsector frameworks and purchasing controls while maintaining a practical solutionsfocused approach.

A key feature of the role is its involvement across the full equipment lifecycle including landing installation commissioning and readiness for use. This includes coordinating supplier installation activities ensuring equipment is properly commissioned and supporting the preparation and delivery of training for teachers and end users. The role plays a critical part in ensuring equipment is safely installed fit for purpose and fully operational enabling training delivery and longterm asset value for TAFE NSW.

The successful candidate must be willing to travel regionally as required to the three MCoE campuses at Newcastle Wetherill Park and Wollongong.


About You
You are an experienced procurement professional with demonstrated capability delivering endtoend sourcing activities and providing expert procurement advice to practitioners and stakeholders. You are confident leading commercial engagements including tenders evaluations supplier negotiations and contract development through to execution and working within established procurement systems and governance frameworks. Experience with SAP Ariba is highly desirable.

You bring practical purchasing and order fulfilment experience and enjoy working closely with crossfunctional teams and suppliers to deliver outcomes across the full equipment lifecycle including coordination of delivery installation commissioning and readiness for training. You are collaborative commercially astute and comfortable balancing compliance with operational delivery.
