This full-time position requires approximately 40-45 hours per week and involves a blend of project management strong communication skills and problem-solving abilities. If you thrive in a fast-paced collaborative environment this opportunity is ideal for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and apply local state and federal planning and environmental statutes regulations and policies as they pertain to a variety of projects including oil and gas remediation and renewable energy.
- Analyze complex projects in accordance with California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) guidelines playing a pivotal role in developing environmental documents and associated technical assessments on behalf of lead agencies.
- Prepare environmental technical reports and permit applications in alignment with the Federal Clean Water Act (CWA) CEQA NEPA State and Federal Endangered Species Act (ESA) the California Water Code and the California Sustainable Groundwater Management Act.
- Collaborate within project teams to devise permitting and compliance strategies for remediation and development projects both within and outside California.
- Pursue California stormwater professional certifications and contribute to stormwater compliance efforts for regional projects.
- Conduct site visits and assessments of remediation projects across the Central Coast region.
- Manage complex project tasks independently and efficiently.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Environmental Science Environmental Planning Biology Hydrology or related field.
- Strong understanding of federal and state environmental regulations particularly CEQA NEPA CWA and ESA.
- Excellent technical writing skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
- Demonstrated experience in environmental planning compliance and permitting processes.
- Proficiency in conducting research and interpreting regulatory requirements.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Must possess a valid California drivers license and maintain a clean driving record.

The salary information shown below is a general guideline ONLY. Salaries are based on candidates experience and qualifications as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range: $70500 - $85000
This position will remain open until a qualified candidate has been selected.
