Job Summary

Develop and maintain the training program for various GVHC staff roles in their assigned Epic application(s). The Analyst works closely with training manager application manager clinical specialty champions and nurse champions to deliver outstanding training content that is targeted and effective.

Scheduled: Monday Friday working from 8:00am 5:00pm.

Compensation: $31.09 $32.64 an hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop role-based training content independently or with team members using a variety of software programs tools and learning management systems (LMS).
  • Design develop and maintain instructional materials.
  • Maintain policy and procedure documentation.
  • Learn new content and consult with subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop training materials and answer any participant questions.
  • Assist with building and testing of training environments and provide support and troubleshoot issues.
  • Collaborate with other trainers by co-facilitating classroom instruction and assisting with exercises as needed.
  • Prepare training lessons printing materials and set up the training room and environment prior to the training session.
  • Present information verbally and in writing in a clear and easy-to-understand manner.
  • Follow up with trainees outside of the classroom to offer additional support.
  • Serve as an expert educator to internal staff.
  • Train and credential additional classroom trainers as needed.
  • Train staff and end users by teaching technical topics as needed.
  • Manage projects by prioritizing projects and by creating and adhering to timelines.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Physical Demands

  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to hear staff on the phone and those who are served in-person and speak clearly in order to communicate information to clients and staff.
  • Must be able to have vision that is adequate to read memos a computer screen and administrative documents.
  • Must have high manual dexterity.
  • Must be able to squat and sit stand stoop crouch reach twist turn finer and feel.

Work Environment

The physical environment requires the employee to work indoors primarily in an office setting. The noise level inside is quiet to average. Use of general office equipment is required on a daily basis. Travel may be required at times.

Education/Experience Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member across multiple teams.
  • Ability to develop document and ensure adherence to technical standards.
  • Ability to independently research and perform analysis to resolve complex issues.
  • Ability to understand business requirements and their impact on technical directions of a solution.
  • Must be self-motivated detail-oriented and able to manage ones own work independently in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Must be able to maintain professionalism and react to customers appropriately while exhibiting high level of customer service.
  • Solid understanding of clinical workflows and terminology in ambulatory setting. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Working knowledge of EMRs and other healthcare applications.
  • Valid California drivers license vehicle insurance reliable transportation and acceptable driving record.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare business processes and technology preferred.
  • Healthcare IT experience in ambulatory care settings a definite plus.
  • Working knowledge of IT solutions and interfacing a definite plus.

Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of clinical area or business area to be supported highly preferred.
  • Minimum two (2) years of work experience supporting HIT applications required.
  • Minimum of four (4) years experience working with EHRs preferred.
  • Must acquire Epic Principal Trainer certification within 6 months of their employment adhering to the maximum number of exam attempts allowed by Epics policy.
  • Continuous maintenance of Epic certifications is a mandatory requirement.
