Job Summary
The Grill Cook is responsible for preparing and serving short-order meals while delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced hospital cafeteria environment.This role ensures high-quality food preparation presentation and service while maintaining strict food safety sanitation and regulatory standards.
This position does not provide direct patient care.
Qualifications
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook short-order items for grill and deli stations
- Serve customers efficiently while providing friendly high-quality service
- Set up stock and replenish grill and cafeteria areas (beverages hot food grab-and-go etc.)
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of cafeteria servery equipment and workspaces
- Follow HACCP and regulatory food safety standards
- Assist with catering order preparation as needed
- Clean and restock stations after each meal period
- Monitor inventory and report shortages or issues to leadership
- Support department goals to improve retail satisfaction and efficiency
- Handle high customer volume during peak service times
- Demonstrate flexibility in supporting department needs

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred (experience may substitute)
- Prior grill cook or food handling experience preferred
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
- Basic knife skills and experience using kitchen equipment (grill fryer slicer steam tables)
- Ability to follow recipes and detailed instructions
- Strong multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently during high-volume periods
- Demonstrates professionalism and adherence to I CARE standards
