This role will be performed onsite in Huntsville AL.

Summit TRC is seeking a highly motivated Test Engineer to join our team. This role will help maintain and test new products for UAS platforms. The ideal candidate will bring a foundation in Operating Systems software testing and a passion for new technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Perform software and hardware testing of components of complex drone platforms
• Coordinate and directs engineering activities concerned with the development of necessary test tools and methods
• Determine conditions under which tests are to be conducted and sequences and phases of test operations (i.e. test planning)
• Direct and exercise control over operational functional and performance phases of tests
• Perform levels of software testing and code scanning to ensure quality and reliability across the software lifecycle
• Use Linux command line extensively for testing automation and data handling
• Collaborate with other Engineering teams and technical stakeholders to troubleshoot issues resolve testing problems and ensure continuity of support and development
• Collect and summarizes test data to report on system verification and validation activities
• Optimize system performance and security
• Maintain excellent technical documentation hygiene
• Maintain cybersecurity best practices

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in a relevant field
• Active security clearance
• Experience working with Windows and Linux Operating Systems and executing commands in the CLI
• Understanding of virtualization tools and hypervisors
• Understanding of scripting languages such as Bash and Python
• Ability to work with external customers or stakeholders in a clear and professional manner
• Ability to identify a problem and find the solution
