Job Description:
Leads the national management team and sales force for a business segment. This executive is accountable for sales service and portfolio management. Collaborates with lines of business across the enterprise to deliver an integrated and seamless experience for clients. Maintains client contact and coaches the workforce to deliver effective sales and service execution and client management. Responsible for new client acquisition and deepening existing relationships. Ensures effective risk management and compliance.
This position will lead the Banking sales organization focused on increasing banking penetration and deposit balance growth with Merrill Wealth Management Clients. The National Banking Sales Executive leads an organization of wealth management bankers to drive performance offer solutions expertise and work with advisor teams to identify client opportunities in close collaboration with Merrill field leaders and partners.
Job Description
- Drives performance and results across Banking Sales organization in partnership with Strategy Executive and the Banking Solutions Group Leadership Team
- Provides oversight leadership and strategic direction to Regional Sales Directors Market Sales Directors and ultimately the entire banking sales organization
- Builds relationships with seniorleaders across wealth management and drives field engagement around banking solutions
- Drives accountability for performance and results across banking sales organization in alignment with financial plan
- Monitors and inspects business performance metrics as well as banker and sales leader performance
- Responsible for development of wealth management bankers and Sr. bankers in partnership with Performance team in the Academy
- Coaches and motivates team while driving accountability for results
- Builds and maintains strong operating rhythm with regular cadence around routines and business tactics
- Promotes culture of excellence and collaboration with an ability to partner across the organization to resolve escalations for a best in class Advisor and Client experience
Leadership Competencies
- Strong presentation skills: ability to present key messages recommendations and information in a clear concise and insightful way
- Strong relationship-building skills: ability to effectively lead across the organization build effective relationships and influence at all levels to achieve change and implement goals
- Comfortable taking initiative and being resourceful/entrepreneurial
- Deep understanding of the composition and structure of the ML/BAC franchise and key priorities and ability to navigate the organization
Required Qualifications
- 15 years leadership experience in Sales (Wealth Management etc.)
- Experienced leadership in sales organization with geographically dispersed teams
- Experience with developing sales strategy and executing tactics
- Ability to develop organized sales initiatives leveraging data CRM systems and back-end sales reporting
- Must be organized and be able to able to manage competing priorities
- Must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills to deliver insights and recommendations to senior management
- Strategic Planning and Implementation experience is required
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work in a high energy fast-paced environment and effectively multi-task
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience required. Advanced degree or certifications desired.
