A healthcare organization is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to perform high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures while ensuring patient safety and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will demonstrate competency in at least two imaging modalities including CT and X-ray and thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical & Technical Duties
Perform imaging procedures in accordance with departmental protocols
Demonstrate proficiency in at least two imaging modalities (e.g. CT X-ray MRI)
Ensure radiation safety and adhere to ALARA standards
Conduct patient screening (e.g. pregnancy checks) prior to imaging
Perform quality control (QC) procedures per manufacturer guidelines
Operate maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment
Notify radiologist of STAT or emergent findings
Obtain informed consent and document patient history
Verify patient identity using two identifiers
Ensure completeness of documentation and prior imaging studies
Operational & Administrative Duties
Maintain imaging records and submit documentation for interpretation
Assist with clerical tasks including phone handling and patient transport
Manage inventory and maintain adequate supply levels
Report equipment issues and coordinate necessary repairs
Complete downtime and incident reports as required
Team & Flexibility
Train and support imaging staff
Cross-train in additional imaging modalities (CT MRI DEXA Mammography etc.)
Adjust schedules as needed to support coverage (emergencies PTO etc.)
Participate in on-call rotations overtime weekends and holiday coverage
Organizational Expectations
Maintain professionalism and effective communication
Adhere to workplace policies dress code and standards
Ensure strict patient confidentiality
Participate in ongoing training meetings and compliance programs
Support quality improvement initiatives
Follow safety infection control and regulatory guidelines
Qualifications
Education & Certification (Required)
Must hold (or obtain within 1 year) at least two certifications such as:
ARRT (R) ARRT (CT) ARRT (MR) ARRT (M) ARRT (N)
ARDMS (RDMS RVT RDCS RMSKS)
NMTCB
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or within 90 days of hire)
Experience
Prior experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred (2 years ideal)
Cross-training in multiple imaging modalities is strongly encouraged
Familiarity with PACS and RIS/HIS systems
Skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
