Job Summary

Lead legacy modernization and support critical mainframe database environments

The Role
As a Lead Database Administrator - Supra you will lead the legacy modernization team focusing on the management and optimization of Supra databases within IBM mainframe environments. This is a hybrid role requiring four days per week in the Toronto office working closely with application and infrastructure teams to ensure performance stability and scalability.

What Youll Do

  • Install configure and maintain Supra databases on IBM mainframe systems
  • Monitor and optimize database performance including capacity planning
  • Manage backup recovery and disaster recovery processes
  • Oversee database security access controls and compliance requirements
  • Provide technical support and guidance to application teams using Supra

What Were Looking For

  • 10 years of experience in Database Administration
  • Strong expertise in Supra IBM z/OS COBOL JCL and CICS
  • Experience supporting legacy systems and modernization initiatives
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams
  • Ability to manage priorities and deliver in a fast-paced environment

Bonus Points For

  • Experience leading or mentoring DBA teams
  • Exposure to modernization or migration programs
  • Familiarity with financial services environments
  • Knowledge of automation or scripting within mainframe environments
  • Relevant certifications in database or mainframe technologies

The salary range for this position is listed below. Additionally this position may also be eligible to receive an annual discretionary/variable bonus payment.
