TheCounsel Contracts & Corporate Compliance plays a critical role in advancing Marvins operational excellence. This highly visible leader will guide complex commercial contracting champion compliance programs and serve as a trusted advisor to teams across the company. Youll work closely with Supply Chain Procurement and other business leaders to support strategic initiatives while ensuring Marvins values commitments and obligations are upheld.
This role manages a team of two attorneys and one systems specialist and reports to the Deputy General Counsel.
Highlights of your role
- Lead Commercial Contracting
- Draft negotiate and review a wide range of highimpact commercial agreements.
- Provide clear practical guidance on contract structure risk and business implications.
- Collaborate with internal partners to ensure agreements support Marvins operational and financial goals.
- Oversee Contract Lifecycle Management
- Lead the governance processes and systems that support Marvins contract lifecycle.
- Drive continuous improvement to increase efficiency visibility and compliance across the enterprise.
- Serve as the primary legal partner to the Supply Chain team.
- Advise on sourcing strategies vendor relationships and risk mitigation.
- Ensure procurement activities align with Marvins standards and longterm business objectives.
- Advance Corporate Compliance & Privacy
- Develop implement and support compliance programs policies and training.
- Provide guidance on privacy requirements and data governance.
- Monitor regulatory developments and help the business adapt responsibly.
- Advance third party risk management protocols.
- Deliver practical solutionsoriented legal advice to leaders across Marvin.
- Build strong relationships and help teams navigate challenges with clarity and confidence.
- Lead and Develop a HighPerforming Team
- Manage and mentor two attorneys and one systems specialist.
- Foster a collaborative inclusive and highintegrity culture within the Legal team.
Youre a good fit if you have (or if you can)
- 710 years of relevant legal experience including a strong mix of commercial contracting corporate and compliance work. At least 4 years of inhouse experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to act as a proactive businessfocused partner.
- Experience supporting procurement or supply chain functions preferred.
- Strong understanding of privacy laws; CIPP or similar credential preferred.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to coach and develop legal professionals.
- JD from an accredited law school; licensed to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction; eligible for licensure in MN.
