Part-Time (School Year): 2:00 PM6:00 PM
Full-Time (Summer Camp): 8:30 AM5:30/6:00 PM
The Learning Experience Sterling is seeking an energetic and dependable School Age Teacher to support our after-school program and summer camp. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with school-aged children and creating a fun structured environment that balances learning and recreation.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and engage school-age children in a safe and structured setting
Plan and lead activities including homework support games STEM projects and creative play
Support childrens social development teamwork and independence
Maintain a positive and organized classroom environment
Communicate with families regarding daily activities and behavior
Assist with transitions between school activities and pick-up times
Follow all Virginia childcare licensing and safety requirements
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required
Experience working with school-age children preferred
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Reliable and able to work consistent afternoon hours during the school year
Available for full-time schedule during summer camp
Must meet Virginia childcare licensing and background requirements
