OVERVIEW
Vertex is currently accepting applications for a GIS Analyst in Alberta.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary education or university degree in or related to GIS.
- > 5 years experience in an environmental consulting environment providing geospatial data and Geomatics support to a range of project types and sectors
- Experience in creating maps in ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online
- Experience in creating technical schematics in AutoCAD.
- Experience with Survey 123 and Field Maps
- Computer knowledge of MS Office (Word Excel Outlook PowerPoint Teams)
- Experience in providing geomatics support for the oil and gas and/or environmental industry (i.e. Phase I Phase II Remediation Reporting)
- Experience supporting Biophysical disciplines (i.e. wildlife soils and terrain vegetation and wetlands) in creating high quality figures and geospatial data sets for technical assessment and geomatics support for reporting is considered an asset
- Experience in coding in SQL Python and Arcade
- Experience in Data management in a geographical environment
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and maintain geospatial databases maps e-forms and web solutions.
- Maintain company standards and procedures under the direction of the Geomatics Lead.
- Compile spatial data sets from sources such as GPS field observations environmental monitoring satellite images and LiDAR.
- Demonstrate the ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
- Collaborate with GIS team and scientists to ensure consistent and high-quality GIS services are maintained.
- Adhere to all company standards procedures and QA/QC processes associated with geospatial data management templates and client specific presentation standards
- Other duties as directed by your direct supervisor or manager.
LOCATION
- This position will be based out of either Calgary AB or Sherwood Park AB
