Whats the role

Youll join Westpacs Markets Model Risk team where your work helps ensure the models used across Financial Markets Risk and Treasury are robust wellunderstood and fit for this role youll independently assess valuation risk and capital models across trading and banking books covering interest rates foreign exchange and commodities.

Youll partner closely with a wide range of stakeholders contributing to critical projects and clearly explaining complex modelling outcomes to senior leaders. Your work will support sound decisionmaking and strong risk management across the Group while giving you exposure to a broad range of products and market activity.

This is a permanent role based in Sydney offering the chance to apply your technical expertise in a collaborative highperforming environment where quality and curiosity are valued.

What do I need

Youll bring strong quantitative capability and a practical mindset. To be successful youll need:

  • At least 4-5 years experience assessing or working with financial markets valuation risk or capital models.
  • A solid understanding of models related to interest rate FX and derivative products.
  • The confidence to challenge models and assumptions constructively.
  • Clear communication skills with the ability to explain complex topics simply.
  • Programming experience in languages such as C++ R or similar.
  • A tertiary qualification in a quantitative discipline
