Permanent

Grade B

Consultation grade - subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review

Working 36.5 hours per week Friday non-teaching day

Birmingham Adult Education Service (BAES) is seeking six qualified and experienced teachers in either Health Care Social Care Early Years and Educationto deliver programmes from Entry 3 through to Level 3 for the 2026/27 academic year. We are committed to ensuring that every learner receives an exceptional learning experience achieves excellent outcomes and progresses confidently to their next steps.

Teaching locations include:

Library of Birmingham Saltley Sparkhill Aston Erdington and Northfield.


We are looking for teachers who can:

  • Plan and deliver highquality learnercentred Health Care Social Care Early Years or Education teaching learning and assessment meeting a wide range of learner needsincluding those requiring additional support or stretch and challenge.
  • Demonstrate a strong record of successful Health Care Social Care Early Years or Education delivery with measurable learner impact.
  • Provide effective advice guidance and support that helps learners achieve their longterm goals.
  • Support the development of schemes of work and highquality teaching and learning materials.
  • Share good practice and actively contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Participate in internal quality assurance activities for accredited qualifications.
  • Conduct initial assessments as part of the Admissions process in the months leading up to September.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum Level 5 teaching qualification (e.g. DTLLS Cert Ed PGCE IRR).
  • A relevant Subject Specialist qualification at Level 3 or higher or equivalent industry experience in shortage areas.
  • If not already held you may be required to achieve this within two years of appointment.
  • Minimum Level 2 English and Maths (GCSE 94 or equivalent).
