LOCATION
Onsite position (occasional travel as required)
This position is only open to applicants residing in Roseburg or surrounding locations within commuting distance.
SALARY
Wage Band 13: $ 45765 - $51485
- Salary is dependent upon skills experience and education.

POSITION PURPOSE
The Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) has some experience working alongside providersoffering assistancein the delivery of primary health care behavioralhealthand patient care management. The Medical Assistant is instrumental in helping patients feel at ease in the office as they are theinitialpoint of contact and often explain theproviderinstruction. CCMAwill playa central rolein the clinics goalto achieveandmaintainPatient Centered Primary Care Home (PCPCH) recognition andoptimizingelectronic health records and other Health Information Technology.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Clinical Tasks: These job tasks provide patient care & are to be performed competently consistently accurately & according toestablishedregional/departmental clinical protocols policies & procedures & standards.
- Prepares & organizes patients office visit for known reason/procedure by ensuring that allappropriate tests clinical information ( test results consultation reports outside records etc.) & order entries are ready for clinician review prior to appointment time.
- Collects pertinent subjective ( & symptoms allergies current medication tobacco use etc.) & objective( signs height weight etc.) data related to patients reason for visit ( complaint presenting symptoms or procedure).
- Utilizes standardized tools ( health maintenance alerts) to identify & address health maintenance/care gaps with patient & alertsclinicianon those that require his/her attention.
- Recognizes signs & symptoms of common medical illnesses abnormal versus new/existing & reports toclinician.
- Alerts clinician on signs & symptoms requiring immediate attention & respond to directions per clinician
- Preparespatientfor actual visit/procedure prior to clinicians exam during rooming-in process.
- Assures exam/procedure room containsappropriate supplies equipment forms & educational materials are available & ready for use during visit/procedure.
- Checks equipmentarein safe working order & cleans room after use.
- Providespatientwith after-visit follow-up self-care or procedural instructions and/or educational materials as directed byclinician.
- UseElectronic MedicalRecordsandother information systems to document all pertinent data & outcomes of patient care according to standardized procedures & policies such as & not limited to the use of SBAR
- Updates historical clinical data gathered in the electronic medical record.
- Assistswith the discharge process.
- Instructspatients and familyregardingmedications and treatment instructions given by a physician.
- Appliessplints or dressings as instructed by physician.
- Arranges laboratory services.
- Clinical Procedures: Performs diagnostic tests therapies & procedures within scope of authorized duties competently & with maintenance ofproficiencyaccording to:
- a) specific department standards on core clinical tasks (see departments list of core skills);
- b) application of knowledge & skillsappropriate todevelopmental age of patient; and
- c) established policies such as & not limited to patient safety aseptic & sterile techniques & infection control.
- Examples of categories of clinical tasks are as follows:
- Screening tests diagnostic tests medication administration and vaccinations/immunizations as instructed by physician orotherlicensed provider
- Comply withorganizationsinternal policies and procedures Code of Conduct Compliance Plan along with applicable Federal State and local regulations.

- High school diploma or equivalent
- One of the following certificationsareaccepted andrequiredat the time of hire: Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) by the National Healthcare Association (NHA); Nationally Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) by NCCT; Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by the AAMA; or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) by AMT
- Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) certified by American Heart Association (AHA)or obtained within 3 months of hire.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with physicianspatientsand co-workers both written and verbally.
- Proficient computer skills including MS Office suite.
- Knowledge of medical practice and patient care 1-2yearsrelevant experience.
- All vaccinationsupto date including but not limited to hepatitis MMR tetanus etc. Covid vaccine preferred or approved medical or religious exemption on file
- Skills in taking vital signs.
- No suspension/exclusion/debarment from participation in federal health care programs (e.g. Medicare/Medicaid)
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Experience working with different communication styles
- Bi-lingual translation or translation capabilities
- Experience considering the impacts of the work on multiple communities including communities of color in technical analysis.
- Experience working on a diverse team with different communication styles.
