Mechanic Assembler

Since 1917 Globe Machine has been a manufacturer of industrial machines systems and plants for advanced composites building products and pulp & paper.

The successful candidate will be responsible for building custom equipment from the ground up. The chosen individual will have strong mechanical aptitude and a great attitude!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions drawing specifications and parts lists gathering parts subassemblies tools and materials.
• Position parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
• Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit fastening parts and subassemblies.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Verify specifications by measuring completed assemblies.
• Safely operate overhead cranes forklifts and manlifts.
• Be available to work overtime when needed to ensure deadlines are met.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school graduate or G.E.D. strongly preferred.
• Minimum of two years experience in machine assembly or similar mechanical task .
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings .
• Maintenance Mechanic or Millwright experience preferred.
• Basic math skills and the ability to read a tape measure .
• Ability to safely operate overhead cranes forklifts and manlifts .
• Demonstrated ability to be adaptable tactful and self-directed when faced with tight deadlines and fluid environments .
• Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate in English .
• Must possess a proven history of being reliable with excellent attendance.
• Conduct oneself with the highest level of professionalism and ethical standards.
