UX Designer AI Product Designer

FocusKPI isseeking aUX Designer/ AI Product Designerto join one of our clients a high-tech SaaS company.

As a Contract AI Product Designer you will drive end-to-end UX concept development across the studios most forward-looking initiatives. Working closely with studio conversational (Content) designers creative technologists and researchers youll shape the future of the clients Galaxy ecosystem.

Youre a systems thinker and hands-on inventor who moves fluidly between near-term design craft and long-horizon strategy. Youll report to the Sr. Design Director and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team that includes Creative Technologists Researchers and AI.

Work Location:New York NY(Onsite role 5 days/week onsite)
Duration:4-monthcontract with potential to extend the contract depending on your performance & budget
Pay Range:$95 - 112/hr

Position Responsibilities:

• Lead UX concept development for Generative Design System investigations including adaptive UI surfaces tokenized design patterns and machine-readable component architectures for AI composition
• Define and prototype Agentic OS interaction models including intent-based navigation multi-agent task orchestration and dynamic layout systems that replace traditional app grid paradigms
• Translate complex AI system behaviors into clear human-centered interaction flows scenarios and design frameworks
• Develop strategy documents user flows wireframes and high-fidelity concept visions that communicate direction to both design peers and executive leadership
• Contribute to JTBD analysis opportunity mapping and product roadmap decisions

• This role requires designers who are actively designing & haveendtoend experiences
• Candidates should demonstrate consumerfocused product work with intuitive interactions clear user flows and high visual polish
• Mid to- highfidelity design craft
• Candidates must have recent experience working on AIrelated features or products with tangible design artifacts or workflows demonstrating how AI is incorporated into the user experience.
• Portfolios must show polished productionready design work including interaction details visual hierarchy and refined UI. Case studies should go beyond wireframes and concepts and include hands-onexecution

• Demonstrated experience designing foragentic or AI-native interfaces including proactive systems multi-step task flows or autonomous agent UX
• Fluency withgenerative UI principles
• Hands-on knowledge ofdesign system tokenization
• Understanding ofLLM / AI model behaviorandagentic system design patterns orchestration layers delegation models agent handoff and user control/override mechanisms
• Experience designingmultimodal interactions voice gesture visual or ambient input/output across device types
• Ability to prototype or storyboardintent-based navigation models

• 10 years of UX Interaction Design or HCI experience with at least 3 years focused on emerging or AI-powered product experiences
• Must havw a strong consumergrade UX experience
• knowledge of currentAI product design tools including generative UI prototyping AI-assisted design workflows or prompt-driven concept exploration
• Strong command ofOS-level or system UX design navigation models information architecture cross-surface continuity
• Experience working within or alongside ascaled design system including contributing patterns interaction specs or component logic
• Proficiency in Figma including component architecture auto-layout and variable/token workflows
• Ability to create compellingconcept visions from rough scenario sketches to polished leadership-ready artifacts

• Systems thinker who can hold both the 10000-ft strategic vision and the 1-ft craft detail simultaneously
• Comfortable with ambiguity able to frame open design questions define the right problem and move forward without complete information
• Strong communicator who can distill complex AI concepts into clear compelling narratives for executive and cross-functional audiences
• Collaborative and generous thrives in small fast-moving multidisciplinary studio environments
• Intellectually curious with a genuine interest in how AI will reshape human behavior not just interface patterns
