Manager of National Programs

Job Summary
The Manager of National Programs is responsible for leading the planning execution and continuous improvement of national and regional programs competitions and events. This role moves beyond coordination to full project ownership managing timelines deliverables and cross-functional collaboration to ensure high-quality program delivery across regions.
The Manager of National Programs serves as a key point of contact for regional teams providing structured support tools and guidance to ensure consistency strong execution and alignment with VEs organizational goals.
This is a full-time exempt position.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Events Leadership
- Lead end-to-end project management of national competitions conferences and training workshops.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans timelines workflows and deliverables.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of live and virtual events.
- Monitor participation engagement metrics and event outcomes.
- Partner with technical consultants and internal teams to update training materials and resource guides.
Regional Program Support
- Serve as primary liaison for regional teams to support program implementation and event execution.
- Develop tools templates scoring guides and resource libraries to strengthen regional consistency.
- Create and maintain a national events calendar and standardized registration processes.
- Identify best practices across regions and lead implementation of shared improvements.
Program Operations & Quality Improvement
- Partner with the Program Director to implement high-quality programs aligned with VEs strategic goals.
- Manage systems for tracking program participation and engagement.
- Oversee data collection processes and support reporting on program outcomes.
- Support the development and refinement of program standards and operating procedures.
Collaboration & Communication
- Provide responsive support to VE staff partners teachers and students.
- Communicate clearly across departments to ensure alignment and accountability.
- Contribute to internal planning conversations and program innovation efforts.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree preferred (education business nonprofit management or related field).
- 35 years of experience in program management education nonprofit operations or event management.
- Demonstrated project management experience with ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google applications; experience with project management tools is a plus.
