The Staff Accountant supports the daytoday accounting operations of the organization ensuring accurate and timely financial data. This role is responsible for preparing journal entries reconciling accounts assisting with monthend and yearend close processes and supporting audits. The Staff Accountant helps maintain compliance with company policies GAAP standards and internal controls.
The day in the life of a Staff Accountant...
Support month-end close activities including journal entries for sales cost of goods sold accruals depreciation and intercompany
Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations maintaining schedules and documentation
Maintain and analyze general ledger accounts to ensure completeness and accuracy
Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
Review transactions for proper coding and compliance with company policies
Assist in financial statement preparation and variance analysis for subsidiary businesses
Help ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
Partner with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives
Assist with audits documentation requests and ad hoc projects as needed
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Education:
Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience is preferred
Required Experience:
Minimum 1-3 years of accounting experience
Understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles
Experience working with accounting systems (Microsoft GP experience is a plus)
Ability to manage monthly quarterly and year-end reporting deadlines
Strong attention to detail organization and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Experience:
Prior exposure to manufacturing environments cost accounting or inventory accounting is a plus
Computer Skills:
Proficiency in Excel
