Position Summary

The Accounting Manager collaborates with the Senior Accounting Manager to ensure the accuracy integrity and timeliness of the companys financial reporting across assigned areas including lease accounting under ASC 842. The role leads a small team of accountants and plays a key role in executing the month-end close maintaining strong internal controls and developing a high-performing accounting team. This position partners with Finance and Operations to strengthen financial monitoring analysis and reporting capabilities that support the companys continued growth and expansion.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the monthly close process through reviewing and approvingjournal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations prepared byaccounting staff ensuring accuracy strong supporting documentationERP data integrity and compliance with company policies and applicableaccounting standards
  • Perform monthly variance analysis of balance sheet and incomestatement accounts collaborating with the FP&A team to investigatevariances and provide accounting insight to support business decision-making
  • Coordinate periodic reviews with operational leaders to walk throughdetailed financial activity within assigned areas ensuring the underlying drivers behind reported balances are understood and unusual items are identified and addressed promptly
  • Identify opportunities to improve and standardize accounting processesand ERP data structures; proactively lead implementation of solutionsthat enhance efficiency accuracy and scalability
  • Lead and develop a team of 13 Staff or Senior Accountants providingguidance on daily responsibilities while fostering a culture ofaccountability collaboration and continuous improvement
  • Conduct performance evaluations establish development goals andsupport professional growth for team members including identifyingresources needed to achieve individual and team objectives
  • Support external and internal audits through preparation ofdocumentation analysis and coordination of audit requests
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager


Experience and Minimum Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate (Bachelors) degree
  • 6 years of progressive accounting or auditing experience
  • Experience applying ASC 842 Lease Accounting across an expansive catalogue of leases
  • Ability to connect and apply concepts across reporting areas to promote consistency in processes
    and conclusions reached
  • Exercises curiosity and due diligence by identifying data irregularities and seeking clarification to
    ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for
    employment visa status (e.g. H1B status).

Preferred Knowledge Skills Abilities or Certifications:

  • Active CPA license
  • Public accounting experience with Big 4 or large regional firm
  • Experience with project management particularly managing cross-functional teams
  • Experience with NetSuite ERP and/or CoStar Leasing Software

Travel Requirements:

  • Local travel required (work location varies)
  • Other travel or work location considerations: Occasional travel to other corporate locations forteam events project meetings and/or audit fieldwork may be required - up to 4 days a month

Overtime/Additional Hours Requirements:

  • Additional and non-standard hours may be required (exempt)
  • Other hour considerations: Additional hours will happen primarily during month end close duringthe first week of the month though may be needed at other times as well
