Position Details:

The Child Mind Institute offers 12-month practicum opportunities for graduate students in BAPIC doctoral psychology programs with placements available in the Mood and Anxiety Disorders Center . Practicum students gain hands-on experience conducting interviews administering psychological and neuropsychological assessments and providing evidence-based treatments in individual group and family formats. They may also participate in intensive treatment programs. Each student receives weekly individual supervision and reports to their centers Senior Director or Training Coordinator.


You Will:

All learning opportunities are track general these track-specific responsibilities are under the guidance of the San Mateo office Training Coordinator and include:

  • Conducting structured and semi-structured interviews
  • Writing evaluation and treatment summaries
  • Learning and providing evidence-based treatments in individual group and family formats
  • Provide treatment in one or more of our various intensive treatment programs


You Have:
  • Current doctoral psychology (i.e. PhD PsyD) student with a clinical counseling school or combined focus
  • Eligibility to participate in an off-site externship or practicum
  • Eligibility for between 8 and 20 hours per week dependent on agreement
