Senior Data Architect

The Opportunity

Cordova is seeking a visionary Senior Data Architect to lead the research design and integration of enterprise-wide data architectures. This is a high-impact strategic role responsible for designing complex automation and control solutions from the ground up ensuring the accuracy reliability and accessibility of data across multiple product lines.

As a Data Architect you will act as a primary consultant to senior management formulating conceptual architectures and communicating a clear technical vision. You will bridge the gap between business strategy and emerging technology creating the roadmaps and frameworks that support the organizations long-term technology vision.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Architecture & Strategy

• Strategic Roadmap: Lead the development of technology strategies and roadmaps for emerging technologies evaluating their usefulness and making executive recommendations.

• Architectural Principles: Create and enforce architectural principles that support business goals modeling key processes and business relationships.

• Visionary Communication: Formulate conceptual architectures and communicate goals and design objectives to diverse audiences from engineering teams to senior executives.

• Modernization: Lead the research and integration of emerging technology architectures to align with business strategy and objectives.

Data Solution Design & Automation

• Solution Engineering: Design complex data solutions including automation controls and operational processes to maintain data integrity.

• Orchestration & Cloud: Architect enterprise-level data systems using Azure Data Factory Databricks or Snowflake ensuring scalable storage and compute.

• Process Support: Consult with technology professionals to develop frameworks that support business-critical applications.

Risk & Governance

• Security & Compliance: Identify risks associated with current or new technology use and ensure all architectures comply with organizational policy.

• Workflow Optimization: Organize workflows evaluate technical alternatives and make critical decisions that affect enterprise-wide business relationships.

The Ideal Candidate

Experience & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.

• Tenure: 5 years of related work experience in data architecture or enterprise systems.

• Cloud Proficiency: 3 years of hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory Python and SQL.

• Methodology: Deep knowledge of Inmon and Kimball data modeling principles as well as Agile frameworks (Scrum Kanban).

Preferred Technical Expertise

• Data Ecosystems: Experience with Data Lakes Data Marts and Warehouses (Azure Synapse Snowflake Databricks).

• Tooling: Proficiency with modeling tools (Erwin Embarcadero) and DevOps tools (Git ADO).

• Modern Concepts: Familiarity with Apache Spark Delta Table concepts and AI/Machine Learning integration.

• Domain Knowledge: Experience within the Insurance industry (rating schemes policy products) is highly desirable.
