Range Explanation:
Hiring Range is an estimate of where you can receive an offer. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills qualifications experience education licenses training and internal equity.
Pay Range is the entire compensation range for the position.
The Events Worker is a part-time/intermittent position that assists in the logistical management of corporate and public events.
Essential Functions:
As defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act this classification may include any of the following tasks knowledge skills and other characteristics. Monitors events at the facility to assist with any needs of the clients and participants;
Welcomes guests into the complex watching for contraband;
Maintains the complexes and fields to major league standards;
Performs grounds maintenance;
Performs end of event closing tasks;
Performs administrative duties.
Minimum Qualifications:
Any combination of training education and experience which demonstrates the minimum knowledge skills and abilities.

Preferred Qualifications: (Be specific in describing your experience in your application. Ensure the descriptions provided illustrate your competencies specifically addressing the required and preferred qualifications.):
Experience working in varied settings including events leagues tournaments and community activities with crowds of varying sizes.
Experience setting up and tearing down events leagues tournaments and/or community activities.
Experience in customer service problem-solving and working directly (face-to-face) with customers.
Experience in general clean up including restrooms trash removal walkways and equipment set up/tear down.
Experience working outside in extreme heat humidity dust and cold weather.
Selection Procedure:
Pima County Human Resources Department reserves the right to admit to the selection process only those candidates that meet the minimum/desired qualifications. All applications will be assessed based on an evaluation of the listed education and experience. Candidates meeting the minimum/desired qualifications may be further evaluated/scored against any advertised Preferred Qualifications. Additional assessments/testing may be required as part of the selection process.
Supplemental Information:
License and Certificates: Valid driver license is required at time of application.ValidAZdriver license is required at time of appointment. The successful applicant will be subject to a 39-month DOT Motor Vehicle Record review to determine applicants suitability to operate county vehicles in accordance with Pima County administrative procedures. Current first aid and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification (American Red Cross or equivalent) must be acquired prior to completion of initial training. Some positions are required to have a Fingerprint Clearance Card. Failure to obtain/maintain the required licensure/certification/registration shall be grounds for termination.
Special Notice Items: The County requires pre-employment background checks. Successful candidates will receive a post-offer pre-employment background screening to include verification of work history education and criminal conviction history. A prior criminal conviction will not automatically disqualify a candidate from employment with the County. This position will require apost-job offer physicaland/or drug screen.
Physical/Sensory Requirements: Constantly moves about in an outdoor environment. Constantly operates and inspects mechanical equipment. Constantly positions self to use inspect clean or repair tools and machinery. Frequently ascends/descends ladders and other equipment. Frequently moves equipment weighing up to 100 pounds. Occasionally required to exchange accurate information. Frequently required to lift push or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Action Activity - Bending reaching squatting; Motion - grasping; Hearing - in noisy areas on a radio behind themselves equipment alarms; Speaking Activity - in person on the phone on a radio and on a cell; Vision - must be able operate motor vehicle operate machinery operate forklift/power industrial equipment; distinguish colors depth perception and peripheral vision.
Working Conditions: Constantly works in outdoor environments including varying inclement weather conditions. Constantly exposed to loud noise levels.
Constantly exposed to moving mechanical parts. Occasionally exposed to mechanical oils vibration potentially hazardous chemicals.
