The Williams Lake First Nation (WLFN) or the Texelcemc (people of WLFN) have belonged to the Secwepemc (or Shuswap) Nation for over 6500 years. Today the WLFN community includes a growing population of over 800 registered members who live on reserve in Sugar Cane in nearby Williams Lake BC and across the globe.

POSITION
Reports to the Manager of Strategic Business Development Operations. The Corporate Marketing Coordinator is responsible for developing organizing and implementing integrated marketing strategies across Sugar Cane Development Corporation (SCDC) and its affiliated entities including The Osprey Nest Unity Cannabis Sugar Cane Cannabis Coyote Rock Golf Course and other emerging business ventures.
This role centralizes corporate marketing efforts to strengthen brand alignment promote revenue-generating initiatives coordinate and execute corporate and community events and enhance public engagement. The position supports Strategic Business Development by increasing visibility attendance customer engagement and overall market presence.
Employment Type
Full-Time (35 hours per week).
Probation Period
3 months from the date of hire.
Education Required
- Bachelors degree in marketing business communications or related field is preferred. OR
- 12 Year College Diploma or Certificate in Marketing Communications Business Administration or a related field with a minimum of 2 years relevant marketing experience.
- High School Diploma with equivalent marketing experience will be considered.
Experience Required
- Minimum of 2 years experience in marketing communications branding or campaign coordination.
- Experience organizing and promoting events campaigns and community initiatives.
- Experience managing social media platforms and digital marketing tools.
- Experience working in hospitality retail cannabis tourism or community-based enterprises is an asset.
- Experience working with Indigenous organizations or economic development initiatives is an asset.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement integrated marketing strategies across all SCDC business entities.
- Plan organize coordinate and promote corporate events including tournaments product launches seasonal campaigns community engagement initiatives and special promotions.
- Develop annual event calendars and marketing plans aligned with corporate growth and revenue objectives.
- Coordinate event logistics in collaboration with business managers including promotional materials branding signage advertising and on-site marketing presence.
- Manage and maintain social media platforms and digital content across all entities.
- Create marketing materials including advertisements posters menus digital graphics newsletters signage and promotional content.
- Support website updates and digital campaign execution.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify growth opportunities.
- Track and analyze marketing performance metrics including engagement attendance reach and return on investment.
- Provide regular marketing reports to leadership outlining campaign effectiveness and event outcomes.
- Coordinate sponsorship opportunities partnerships and promotional collaborations.
- Support corporate communications including announcements press releases and media engagement.
- Contribute to the ongoing success of SCDC and the corporations by completing other duties as required.
Knowledge
- Comprehensive understanding of marketing principles brand management and campaign development.
- Familiarity with digital marketing platforms including social media management tools website content management systems and analytics software.
- Knowledge of event planning coordination promotion and post-event evaluation processes.
- Understanding of corporate communications public engagement and promotional strategies.
- Basic knowledge of budget tracking and expense coordination related to marketing initiatives.
- Awareness of First Nations governance structures community values and economic development priorities is an asset.
- Understanding of confidentiality requirements in handling corporate information and strategic initiatives.
Skills & Abilities
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple marketing initiatives and events simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to clarity brand alignment and professionalism.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook) and digital marketing tools (e.g. social media platforms Canva Adobe Suite analytics tools).
- Ability to plan organize and promote corporate and community events from concept through execution and evaluation.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret marketing metrics and measure return on investment.
- High degree of discretion professionalism and sound judgment.
- Adaptable and responsive to changing priorities and deadlines in a dynamic business environment.
- Positive respectful and customer-focused attitude when working with leadership business managers staff and community members.
