Job Summary
Who We Are Looking ForThe Staff Accountant is responsible for all areas relating to accounting functions. This position will be responsible for daily weekly and monthly accounting tasks and activities. The Junior Accountant is also expected to support the recommendations of the Accounting Manager Corporate Controller Sr. FP&A Manager VP Finance and Admin and the CFO in developing and maintaining accounting principles practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. The Junio Accountant will assist the Accounting Manager in the monthly close process and may assist in overseeing the billing and collections and accounts payable functions. This position must meet tight deadlines in a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation financial reporting audit and internal You Will Work OnApply a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure and processesUnderstanding of IFRS and GAAP to ensure an accurate and timely monthly quarterly and year end closeEnsure the timely reporting of all monthly financial informationEnsure the timely and accurate completion of all general ledger account reconciliationsSupport Accounts Receivable (Billing and Collections) Accounts PayableResponsible for accurate Project based Accounting and reportingAdvise staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactionsRespond to inquiries from the Accounting Manager Sr. FP&A Manager Corporate Controller VP of Finance and Administration regarding financial results and special reporting requestsWork with Accounting Manager and the retained CPA firm to:ensure a clean and timely interim and year end audit as neededsupport foreign entity requirementsensure all required tax filings are completed and filed on timeEnsure all internal and external financial reporting deadlines are met working with the Accounting ManagerWork with Accounting Manager in maintaining financial security by establishing and executing internal controlsAvoid legal challenges by understanding contracts current and proposed legislation enforcing accounting regulations; recommending new organizations value by keeping information confidentialUpdates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed and on You Will BringBA/BS in Accounting preferred; 2 year certificate acceptable and working towards CPA a plus4 years accounting experienceExperience with Multi currency and Multi entity organizations3 years experience in the accounting/financial reporting areas including tax and audit be PC proficient and must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel and and subsidiary accounting and consolidation a verbal and written communication interpersonal and customer service skills to multi-task work under pressure attention to details meet deadlines and be able to thrive in a fast-paced work conditionsMay include long periods of sittingLocationOnsite in the Annapolis facility 3 days a week WFH 2 daysThe salary range for this position is $80000 to $85000 commensurate with experience.
